Overview
Jump is a Ditto transformation move in Pokemon Pokopia that grants Ditto the ability to spring upward roughly one block in height. It is the sixth move unlocked in the game, taught by Magikarp at Withered Wasteland. While simple in concept, Jump is a fundamental traversal tool that opens up vertical movement across every region.
How to Unlock
Magikarp can be found behind the mountains in the starting area of Withered Wasteland. To reach it, stack blocks (obtained from Rock Smash) to climb over the terrain barrier.
Find Magikarp flopping on the shore behind the mountains.
Talk to Magikarp. It will ask you to build an Ocean Fishing Spot habitat.
Place any seat on the right side where a fishing rod is located (craft a seat from wood if needed).
Return to Magikarp after the habitat is complete to learn Jump.
Controls
Button | Action |
|---|---|
R | Jump upward (roughly 1 block height) |
Jump is always available once learned. Unlike most other moves, it does not need to be selected on the move wheel. Simply press R at any time to jump. Jump does not consume PP, so you can use it freely without worrying about energy.
Uses
Climb over single-block obstacles without building stairs or using Rock Smash to destroy them.
Reach elevated platforms, ledges, and rooftops that are one block above ground level.
Access previously blocked paths in all four story regions.
Activate Glide mid-air by pressing R from a ledge, then pressing R again. The first R triggers Jump, and the second activates the Dragonite glide transformation.
Limitations
Jump height is fixed at roughly one block. You cannot reach anything higher than that without stacking blocks or finding an alternate route.
There is no double jump. Pressing R twice in the air activates Glide (if unlocked), not a second jump.
Jump does not provide any combat or building utility. It is purely for movement.
Tips
Before learning Jump, the only way to gain elevation is to stack blocks manually with Rock Smash materials. After unlocking Jump, vertical navigation becomes much smoother.
Combine Jump with block stacking for multi-level climbs. Jump onto a placed block, place another on top, jump again, and repeat.
In Sparkling Skylands, Jump is the launching point for Glide. Always jump from the highest available ledge before activating Glide to maximize your flight distance.
