Major expansion with full community lot listings per city, editing guide
Community lots are public locations where Zois can socialize, work, develop skills, and engage in activities that are not available at home. Each of inZOI's three cities has its own set of community lots with different themes and offerings. Lots are marked on the city map with icons indicating their type and operating hours.
The v0.5.0 update (December 2025) added business ownership, which lets players purchase and operate some lot types as commercial ventures, turning community lots from places to visit into places to run. Community lots range from small cafes and convenience stores to sprawling parks, amusement parks, and resort complexes. Some lots are open 24 hours, while others follow fixed schedules that vary by weekday or weekend.
Community lots fall into several broad categories. The specific lots available depend on which city your Zoi lives in, but the general categories are shared across all three cities.

Dowon is modeled after Seoul's Gangnam District, blending modern high-rises with traditional Korean architecture. The city has the densest concentration of community lots among all three cities, with venues spread across its grid-like streets and connected by the subway system.

Bliss Bay is an Americanized coastal city with beach culture, surf shops, and an amusement park. Its community lots lean toward outdoor recreation and seaside entertainment. Public buses connect the city's lots instead of a subway system.

Cahaya is a tropical island destination inspired by Indonesia's tourist regions like Bali and Lombok, available through the Island Getaway DLC. The island is split into two halves: a residential mainland where Zois can farm, fish, and mine, and a resort island with leisure activities. Water taxis and boat rentals connect the different areas.

Zois can visit community lots by walking, driving a car, using the subway (Dowon), riding a public bus (Bliss Bay), taking a water taxi (Cahaya), or fast-traveling on their smartphone. Each lot has operating hours displayed on the map. Some lots are open 24 hours, while others close in the evening or only operate on weekdays.
NPC Zois populate lots autonomously based on time of day and the lot's type. Restaurants fill up around mealtimes, gyms attract morning exercisers, and bars get busy at night. Player Zois can interact with any NPC encountered on a lot, starting conversations, building relationships, or engaging in shared activities. NPCs react to the lot's purpose: they dance at clubs, read at cafes with bookshelves, and cheer during busking performances.
Many community lots can be modified through the Edit Public Property feature. Lots that support editing are marked with an "(Editable)" indicator in the top-left corner of the screen when your Zoi visits them. To enter the editor, walk your Zoi to the lot and press the building icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. This opens a limited version of Build Mode specifically for that public property.
Inside the public property editor, players can rearrange furniture, swap objects, add decorations, and redesign the layout of the lot. Functional items like gym equipment, karaoke machines, easels, and game consoles determine which activities are available on the lot. Removing a karaoke machine, for example, means Zois can no longer sing at that venue. Adding fitness equipment to a park creates a new workout spot. This gives players significant control over what their Zois (and NPC Zois) can do at each location.
Beyond individual lots, the Edit City feature (accessed through the City Map by pressing the M key and selecting the City Appearance tab) allows broader city-level customization. Players can change the weather, swap tree and plant types, place decorations like giant balloons, adjust animal populations, add special effects like fireworks and fireflies, upload custom billboard images, and control the overall cleanliness of the city environment.
Editing public properties costs zero Meow. Unlike residential building where furniture purchases cost money, modifying community lots is completely free.
Schools are not editable in the current build. Youngsung School in Dowon and Bliss Bay Public School cannot be modified.
Not every community lot is marked as editable. Institutional buildings like police stations, fire stations, and banks generally cannot be edited.
Streets adjacent to editable lots can also be customized. Press the Edit Street option to move street furniture like benches and planters.
Important: Do not press the I key while inside an editable lot. This will exit the public property editor and open your home's Build Mode instead, which can be disorienting.
Since v0.5.0, players can purchase business properties through the Edit City window. Business lots can be configured as cafes, restaurants, bakeries, florist shops, and bars. The owner manages staff, working hours, menu offerings, and finances through the business ownership system. See the Coffee and Beverages article for details on running a cafe business.
Business lots blur the line between community lots and player-owned property. Once purchased, the lot still functions as a public venue where NPC Zois visit, order food, and socialize. The difference is that the player earns revenue from these visits and has full control over the lot's layout, staff, and operating hours. Profits and losses are tracked through the business management interface on the Zoi's smartphone.
Check the city map regularly for lot icons. Hovering over a lot shows its name, type, and operating hours before you travel there.
Parks and plazas are the best places for busking. They attract high foot traffic, and NPCs will stop to watch and tip your performing Zoi.
Visit community lots during their peak hours for maximum NPC interactions. Restaurants are busiest around lunch and dinner, gyms in the morning, and bars after 8 PM.
If an editable lot is missing an activity you want (like a basketball hoop or chess table), enter the public property editor and add the appropriate object.
In Cahaya, the Deserted Island is free to visit and contains high-quality mineral deposits for mining. It is easy to overlook but valuable for resource gathering.
The 2026 Roadmap includes high school campus properties in Q1 as a new lot type, which will add more community venues to the game.
When choosing a city for your Zoi, consider which community lots matter most to you. Dowon has the most urban venues, Bliss Bay focuses on beach and outdoor recreation, and Cahaya offers resort and farming experiences.
