Mac support arrived with this update. Players who had already purchased inZOI on Windows through Steam could play on Mac without an additional purchase. A separate purchase was required on the App Store regardless of any prior Steam ownership. The Mac version requires macOS 15.0 Sequoia or later with an Apple M2 or M3 processor and at least 16 GB of RAM. For full details, see the macOS Version article.
The Island Getaway DLC is inZOI's first official downloadable content pack, available for free to all players. On Steam, the DLC had to be claimed separately from the store page. On the App Store, it was included automatically when downloading the base game. The DLC introduced Cahaya, a tropical island destination composed of three distinct areas.
Island | Description |
|---|---|
Main Island | The residential and economic hub where Zois can settle permanently. Income is earned through farming, fishing, and mining. |
Resort Island | A leisure destination offering villa accommodations, spa treatments, swimming pools, arcade games, bowling, billiards, and the Miatara Temple. |
Deserted Island | A mysterious location between the main and resort islands, accessible through exploration. Contains unique collectibles and underwater points of interest. |
Players could form new families on Cahaya or move existing households from Dowon or Bliss Bay using the new inter-city travel system.
The resort island offers a range of recreational options. Visitors can stay in villas with varying amenities, including optional swimming pools. A spa facility provides foot, hand, and scalp massages as well as full-body massage sessions. Foot soaks in fish-filled or rose-petal water are also available. Weekly resort events rotate through activities such as arcade challenges, lucky draws, treasure hunts, Turtlebot races, and pool parties. Players earn Resort Coins through these events, which can be traded for exclusive rewards.
The Miatara Temple (also called the Cat Temple) is located in the southern area of the resort island. Visitors can climb the temple, interact with cats, give treats, play with toys, and meditate alongside the cats. Items such as cat treats, talismans, toys, and catnip candy are available for purchase at the temple.
The DLC added nine new rabbit-hole careers exclusive to Cahaya. For complete details, see Cahaya Careers.

The v0.3.0 update brought several new gameplay skills to both the base game and the DLC. These activities gave Zois new ways to earn income, develop abilities, and interact with the world.
Zois can now swim in swimming pools and the ocean, which builds their Swimming skill over time. Low energy while swimming can lead to drowning or accidents, so players need to monitor their Zoi's stamina. The Swimming skill is also a prerequisite for underwater activities; Zois must reach a certain proficiency before they can snorkel and dive. While diving, Zois may encounter marine life such as sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, and jellyfish, and they can discover collectible items near coral reefs and submerged structures.
Fishing was introduced as a new skill. Zois can fish in rivers and the ocean, and using higher-quality rods increases the chances of catching rare fish. Caught fish can be displayed in fish tanks at home, used in cooking recipes, or sold for profit. In Cahaya, players can also fish directly from rented boats.
Zois can start their own farm by placing farming plots through Build Mode. Using tools like watering cans and rakes, they grow crops that can be used in cooking or sold at shops. Natural disasters such as heavy rain and floods can destroy crops, adding a layer of risk. For a full guide, see Crop Farming.
Mining spots around the world allow Zois to extract raw gemstones. These can be refined into polished jewels and crafted into accessories through a dedicated crafting system. Crafted jewels function both as equippable accessories in Create a Zoi and as decorative materials. See Gem Mining and Crafting for more details.
In Cahaya, players can rent one of six different boat types and steer freely between the three islands. Boats support fishing, sunbathing, and general exploration. An instant boat taxi service is also available for quick transportation between destinations. See Boats and Water Activities.
One of the central goals of the v0.3.0 update was to make Zois feel more lifelike. The emotions system received a significant overhaul. Zois now express emotions more subtly depending on the situation, and their traits influence how they react to different events. Character animations and facial expressions were refined for smoother, more realistic transitions. Conversation flow between Zois was also improved so that emotional shifts feel less abrupt.
The emotion UI was completely redesigned. Emotion icons, expression indicators, and emotion levels are now easier to read at a glance. Thought balloons appear during conversations to give players insight into what a Zoi is feeling.
New group actions were introduced so that Zois can perform collaborative activities together. Examples include eating meals as a group and playing games side by side. These shared interactions bring more warmth and personality to relationships and make social gatherings feel more natural.
The romantic relationship system was expanded with greater emotional nuance. New dynamics include one-sided crushes, love confessions, obsessive attachment, and divorce proceedings. These additions create more varied and believable relationship arcs between Zois.
The v0.3.0 update introduced two major architectural features to Build Mode: swimming pools and elevators. Both had been highly requested by the community since Early Access launch.
Players can now build swimming pools from Build Mode under the Exterior category. New pool-specific objects were added, including ladders, accessories, and lighting. In apartment properties, pools can be placed on the base floor of the Lumiere and Dowon Heights buildings.
Elevators can be installed from Build Mode under Home > Floor Connectors. This allows players to build multi-story homes where Zois can ride elevators between floors instead of relying solely on staircases.
A total of 104 new building items were added, spanning roofing options, fences, gates, and decorative elements. A new Roof Presets category was introduced with 15 ready-made roof designs that simplify the construction process.
The update added 14 new vehicles to the game, including motorcycles and electric scooters. Three new Hyundai brand partnership models were included: the Staria Lounge, IONIQ 9, and the All-New NEXO. Players can purchase vehicles through the Dream Car app on their Zoi's smartphone. Used vehicles also became available for the first time, letting players buy cars at roughly half the original price. For full details, see Driving and Vehicles.
Several new financial tools were introduced to deepen the life simulation aspect of the game.
Feature | Description |
|---|---|
Mortgage Loans | When purchasing a first home, Zois can take out a mortgage. Both principal and interest are repaid through the smartphone. High-interest private lenders are also available, though failure to repay may result in forced collection. |
Insurance | Zois can purchase life insurance, natural disaster coverage, or property insurance via the smartphone or computer. See the Insurance article. |
Budget App | A new smartphone app tracks the household's income and expenses, giving players a clearer picture of their financial situation. |
Resale Store | Crops, fish, minerals, and other gathered resources can be sold at the Resale Store. Delivery prices fluctuate daily, rewarding players who time their sales. |
For the first time, Zois can leave their home city and visit other locations. Travel is initiated through the smartphone or computer by selecting the travel option, or by physically visiting the airport shuttle or seaplane departure points. This system connects Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya (with the Island Getaway DLC installed). See Travel Between Cities for a complete guide.
The update added 56 new cosmetic items focused on summer aesthetics, including swimwear, festival outfits, and resort casual clothing. A new My Wardrobe feature stores outfits and accessories obtained through gameplay. The Create a Zoi Character Studio also gained a Focus Edit Mode that removes UI clutter during facial adjustments, making it easier to fine-tune details. Crafted jewels from the new gem mining system can be used as equippable accessories.
The Canvas online sharing platform received several social features in this update.

The city environment simulation area was expanded in v0.3.0. Crowds now appear throughout Dowon and Bliss Bay, each with their own schedules and purposes, making the world feel more populated and alive. New interactive lots were added in both cities, and existing areas received updates to feel more vibrant.
Several quality-of-life changes also arrived with this update:
Food can now be stored in fridges and retrieved later.
When all family members go to sleep, time automatically accelerates to 30x speed.
Utility bills for water and electricity now carry penalties; unpaid bills result in service shutoffs.
Map icons can be toggled to display key locations.
The intro video can be skipped.
A slow-motion feature is accessible through the Left Alt key.
Natural disasters such as dust storms, heavy rain, and heat waves dynamically affect gameplay across all cities.
Gamepad controller support arrived as a beta feature with partial Xbox controller compatibility. The Shoulder View camera gained an auto-targeting system to help with interaction selection.
On the modding front, ModKit v0.1.3 shipped alongside the update for compatibility with the v0.3.0 base game. Enhanced resource migration tools added support for Blender 3.x and Maya versions spanning 2021 through 2025. Management of unofficial mods was also improved.
Over 90 new music tracks were added to the soundtrack, including AI-generated ambient compositions. Movement animations, idle sequences, and look-at mechanics were refined for improved fluidity and realism.
After the initial v0.3.0 release, several hotfix patches followed to address stability issues and gameplay bugs. Version v0.3.2, released on August 22, 2025, focused on improving performance and fixing major issues reported by the community during the first two days after launch.
