Overview

The Tarnished Necklace is a Necklace accessory in Crimson Desert. It provides a +1 Attack bonus and is currently the only documented necklace in the game. Despite its worn appearance and low sell value, the Attack boost it provides stacks with bonuses from Weapons and Rings. This adds to overall damage output.
Players can equip exactly one necklace at a time. Since the Tarnished Necklace is the sole known option for this slot, it is effectively a mandatory piece of gear for anyone looking to fill all six accessory slots (two earrings, two rings, one necklace, one Cloak).

The +1 Attack bonus is modest on its own, but it stacks with the Attack bonuses from rings (such as the Tarnished Ring at +1 ATK or the Hernandian Signet at +2 ATK). A full offensive accessory loadout using the Tarnished Necklace, two offensive rings, and refined earrings can provide a meaningful damage increase on top of weapon stats.
Description
"A necklace dulled by years of wear. Though its original luster has faded, it bears the weight of time, passed through the hands of countless owners."
The flavor text paints the Tarnished Necklace as an old, well-worn piece of jewelry that has changed hands many times. Its history of multiple owners suggests it has been traded, looted, or passed down through generations. The "weight of time" may be figurative, referring to the necklace's sentimental or historical value rather than any magical property.
How to Obtain
The Tarnished Necklace is looted from Bandits encountered throughout the open world. Bandits appear in camps, along roads, and in strongholds scattered across the map. The drop is not guaranteed, so multiple bandit encounters may be needed to acquire one.
Farming Tips
Bandit camps: Clear bandit camps during Main Story quests and side content. Bandits respawn at regular intervals, making camps a reliable farming spot.
Roadside encounters: Groups of bandits spawn along roads between settlements. Traveling on foot or horseback between Hernand and outlying areas will trigger frequent encounters.
Loot corpses: After every fight, check the white dots on the minimap. These indicate unlooted bodies. Accessories are a common drop alongside Silver coins and consumables.
Duplicate copies: Since the necklace is non-unique, players can loot multiple copies. Extra copies can be used as refinement material at the Blacksmith.
Refinement
The Tarnished Necklace supports up to 10 refinement levels at any Blacksmith. Refinement materials for jewelry are Hides and Bones obtained from Hunting animals. Alternatively, duplicate Tarnished Necklaces can be used as upgrade material.
Refining the Tarnished Necklace is a worthwhile early-game investment since it is the only necklace available. Upgraded tarnished accessories grant additional bonuses including increased attack speed and stamina regeneration on top of the base Attack stat increase per level.
From level 5 onward, Abyss Artifacts are required alongside standard materials. Since the Tarnished Necklace is currently the only necklace option, players may want to invest Abyss Artifacts here to maximize the one necklace slot available.
Accessory Slot Context
Crimson Desert allows players to equip six accessories simultaneously:
2 Earrings (e.g., Oath of Darkness, Engraved Gold Earring)
2 Rings (e.g., Hernandian Signet, Tarnished Ring)
1 Necklace (Tarnished Necklace)
1 Cloak (e.g., Hernandian Noble's Cloak)
Since the necklace slot is limited to one item and the Tarnished Necklace is the only known option, it occupies a unique position in equipment planning. Any future necklaces added to the game through updates or DLC would compete directly with this item for the single slot.
Notes
Currently the only documented necklace in Crimson Desert.
Commonly dropped by Bandits, making it one of the earliest accessories most players acquire.
Low sell price of 1 Silver; extra copies are better used as refinement material than sold.
Upgraded tarnished accessories provide bonus effects like increased attack speed and stamina regeneration beyond their base stat.
The worn appearance described in its flavor text matches its position as a low-tier, early-game piece of equipment.
