Description
"A necklace dulled by years of wear. Though its original luster has faded, it bears the weight of time, passed through the hands of countless owners."
How to Obtain
The acquisition method for the Tarnished Necklace is not fully documented. Its low sell price and "tarnished" description suggest it is a common item, likely available from equipment vendors in towns or found as early-game loot from enemies.
Refinement
The Tarnished Necklace supports up to 10 refinement levels at any blacksmith. Refinement materials for jewelry come from hides and bones obtained through Hunting. Refining this necklace increases its Attack bonus, which can make it a worthwhile investment even as a starter piece.
Notes
At 1 Silver sell price, this is the cheapest known accessory in the game. Do not sell it early on, as the Attack bonus from wearing it is worth more than the coins.
Stacks with the Tarnished Ring (+1 Attack) for a combined +2 Attack from accessories alone.
The flavor text hints at the necklace having a long history, changing hands many times. Whether this connects to any in-game lore or quest line is unknown.
As the only known necklace, players have no alternative in this slot. Refining it is a good way to squeeze extra damage out of an otherwise fixed equipment choice.
