Odex Protector's Plate Boots
Odex Protector's Plate Boots (also known as Odeck's Protector Plate Boots) are footwear in Crimson Desert with 17 Attack, 5 Defense, and Movement Speed Lv.1. Found in a hidden chamber inside the Sanctum of Temperance, southeast of Hernand City. Pre-slotted with Aegis II and Haste I Abyss Cores.
Overview
The Odex Protector's Plate Boots (also referred to as Odeck's Protector Plate Boots in some sources) are a Footwear piece in Crimson Desert. They combine strong offensive and defensive stats with 17 Attack and 5 Defense, placing them among the most well-rounded boots in the game. They also provide Movement Speed Lv.1, keeping your character mobile despite being heavy plate armor.
These boots are found inside a hidden chamber within the Sanctum of Temperance, located southeast of Hernand City. The chamber is concealed behind a wall of vines that must be burned using the Blinding Flash ability. What makes these boots particularly valuable is that they come pre-slotted with two Abyss Cores: Aegis II (damage reduction) and Haste I (movement speed). This means you get their full potential immediately without needing to find and socket cores yourself.
Stats
Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Footwear (Plate Boots) |
Attack | 17 |
Defense | 5 |
Movement Speed | Lv.1 |
Pre-Slotted Abyss Cores
Core | Effect |
|---|---|
Aegis II | Damage Reduction 1.0 (reduces incoming damage by a flat 1.0 per hit) |
Haste I | Movement Speed +1 (additional movement speed bonus) |
The 5 Defense ties these boots with the Carta Plate Boots for the highest defense value on any footwear piece. The 17 Attack is also among the highest for boots, making these a top-tier choice for builds that want both offense and survivability from a single equipment slot. The pre-installed Aegis II core adds flat damage reduction on every hit, which is especially effective against enemies with rapid multi-hit attacks.
Location
The Odex Protector's Plate Boots are found inside the Sanctum of Temperance, one of the Sanctums in the Hernand region. The Sanctum of Temperance is located southeast of Hernand City, just past the Goldleaf Merchant settlement. The boots are in a hidden chamber at the lowest level of the sanctum, concealed behind a wall of vines.
How to Obtain
Requirements
The Blinding Flash ability (used to burn vines). Alternatively, Fire Arrows or a Torch can also work, though Blinding Flash is the most efficient method.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Travel southeast from Hernand City past the Goldleaf Merchant settlement to reach the Sanctum of Temperance.
Enter the sanctum and make your way to the lowest area, near the main stairway.
Locate the Fusion Reactor Core and remove it from its pedestal.
Behind where the core was sitting, you will find a small passageway concealed behind a wall of vines.
Use Blinding Flash to burn away the vines, revealing the hidden chamber.
Enter the chamber and open the treasure chest to obtain the Odex Protector's Plate Boots.
No combat is required to reach the treasure chest itself. The only prerequisite is having an ability that can burn vines. The boots can be obtained during your first visit to the Sanctum of Temperance, making them available relatively early in the game.
Sanctum of Temperance Puzzle
The Sanctum of Temperance is a multi-step puzzle dungeon. While the boots can be grabbed during the puzzle, completing the full sanctum also yields other rewards. The main puzzle involves removing the Fusion Reactor Core and the Fusion Reactor, placing them in specific locations on the main machine, and then using an Aerial Force Palm to complete the cleansing. The full puzzle rewards include the Kuku Lightning Spear and Kuku Bird Boltspitter blueprints.
The vines appear in multiple locations throughout the sanctum, not just at the hidden boot chamber. Use Blinding Flash on any vine-covered surfaces you encounter to reveal additional climbing routes and shortcuts.
Build Recommendations
The Odex Protector's Plate Boots are widely considered the best early-game footwear option and remain competitive well into the late game. Their combination of high attack, solid defense, and pre-installed utility cores makes them versatile enough to fit into almost any build.
Tank builds: The 5 Defense plus Aegis II damage reduction provides excellent incoming damage mitigation. Pair with heavy Body Armor and a Shield for maximum survivability.
Aggressive builds: The 17 Attack stat adds meaningful damage to your overall output, and the Movement Speed bonuses (Lv.1 from the boots plus Haste I core) help you close gaps on enemies quickly.
Exploration builds: The stacked Movement Speed bonuses from the base stat and Haste I core make traversal faster, which is valuable when exploring the open world.
Tips
Grab them on your first sanctum visit. The boots are available as soon as you reach the Sanctum of Temperance. Do not leave without checking behind the Fusion Reactor Core for the hidden vine passage.
Pre-installed cores save resources. Aegis II and Haste I are strong cores that would otherwise need to be found and socketed manually. Many players continue using these boots into the late game because the core combination is difficult to outclass.
Fire Arrows as a backup. If you have not unlocked Blinding Flash yet, you can use Fire Arrows or a Torch to burn the vines. However, Blinding Flash is recommended because it covers a wider area and burns all vines simultaneously.
Check for more vines. The Sanctum of Temperance has multiple vine-covered surfaces. Burning them reveals hidden paths and additional loot beyond just the boots.
