Overview
Odeck's Protector Plate Boots are a Footwear piece in Crimson Desert. These heavy plate boots have a recorded pickup display of 16 ATK and 5 DEF. Compare defense at the same refinement level when choosing footwear rather than treating this display as an absolute ranking over Carta Plate Boots. They feature Movement Speed Lv.1, Damage Reduction 1.0, and a Movement Speed +1 bonus from their Abyss Core slots, making them excellent for tanky builds that still need to reposition quickly.

Stat records differ: the pickup guide displays 16 ATK and 5 DEF with Aegis II and Haste I, while the recorded refinement table has 17 ATK and 5 DEF at +3 and 35 ATK/19 DEF at +10, with Aegis I and Haste I in its socket list. The Attack 17 table entry and Damage Reduction 1.0 above should therefore be read with their source and refinement context, not as proof that every version or pickup has identical installed gear.
How to Obtain
Loot the treasure chest in the lowest area of the Sanctum of Temperance, hidden in a wall of vines. The pickup can be reached early. Also check equipment vendors such as Bargul at Odeck Equipment. The item record additionally lists the Slumbering Soul quest at Odeck Ruins and a Smith recipe using Abyss Cell x10 and any three eligible Kuku Pot Sealed Items; these are additional recorded routes, not prerequisites for the sanctum chest.
Damage Reduction
The Damage Reduction 1.0 effect reduces incoming damage by a flat 1.0 per hit. This stacks with Defense stat damage mitigation and any other flat reduction effects from Armor pieces and Abyss Cores. Against enemies that land many small hits quickly, Damage Reduction is more valuable than a slightly higher Defense stat. This makes Odeck's Protector Plate Boots particularly effective against swarm-type enemies and bosses with multi-hit combos.
Notes
The older display lists 5 DEF and Damage Reduction 1.0; this is not the highest possible footwear Defense across refinement levels.
The 16 ATK matches Carta Plate Boots and Hungering Fang Leather Boots, so offensive power is not sacrificed for the defensive bonuses.
Movement Speed Lv.1 plus the bonus Movement Speed +1 gives strong mobility, unusual for such a tanky piece of footwear.
Ideal for tank-oriented builds that pair with heavy Body Armor and Shields.
The item description identifies Odeck as the place guarded by the Forgotten General who wore these boots.
Odeck's Protector Set Acquisition Guide
The Odeck's Protector Plate set pickup route is split across five hidden caches and requires no crafting for those pickups. A separate Smith recipe for these boots is recorded above; the cache route is not proof that every item lacks a crafting route. Most of the listed pieces can be collected at any point in the campaign, but the helm is locked behind a chapter 9 quest and cannot be grabbed early.
Set pieces and their unlock methods:
Helm: gated behind the chapter 9 quest The Veiled Witch, which lifts a curse at the helm's location. Focus Force Palm opens the rock cache.
Chest Armor: retrieved from a hidden hole that must be broken open with Focus Force Palm. Two nearby holes look similar, so target the correct one.
Gloves: unlocked by smashing one of the colorful rocks at its map marker with Focus Force Palm.
Cloak: looted from a cache in Pelu. The area is patrolled by black bears that stay hostile even after Pelu has been reclaimed, and aggro will block the pickup prompt.
Boots: hidden in a chest in the lowest area of the Sanctum of Temperance, behind a wall of vines. The sanctum does not need to be cleared; the chest can be looted directly.
All five pieces share the same silver finish by default, so the ingredients for a matching look are stored together once the full set is equipped. The pieces accept dyes, which allows for custom color schemes without changing the model.
Pickup Location
The boots are in the lowest part of the Sanctum of Temperance, inside a treasure chest hidden in a wall of vines. Entering the sanctum and routing directly to the chest is the practical pickup described above; clearing the sanctum objective is not listed as a prerequisite. This is an early pickup route rather than a promise that the entire set is available before its separately listed quest gates.
