Overview
Red and green vines frequently block paths, doorways, and treasure rooms throughout Pywel. These vines cannot be cut with melee weapons. Instead, you need fire or concentrated light to burn them away.
Method 1: Fire Arrows
The most common method uses a bow and a nearby flame source.
Step 1: Equip your bow and look for a burning brazier, torch, or campfire nearby. Vine-blocked paths almost always have a fire source within reach.
Step 2: Aim your arrow directly at the flame and hold your aim until the arrowhead catches fire.
Step 3: Aim at the vines and release. The fire arrow will ignite the vines and clear the passage.
Be careful not to knock over the brazier while positioning. If one fire source is not working, look for a different brazier nearby.
Method 2: Concentrated Light
If you do not have arrows or prefer a melee approach, use the Blinding Flash ability. Activate it near the vines to redirect light from your weapon onto them. After a few seconds the vines will catch fire and burn away.
You can also hold L1/LB + R1/RB to charge the Concentrated Light technique, then aim the resulting beam at the vines. This works with any character that has the ability unlocked.
Tips
Always carry arrows when exploring. Running out mid-dungeon means you may need to backtrack to a vendor.
Some vine barriers hide optional Sanctum puzzles, so clear every vine you encounter to avoid missing content.
