The Minimum Font Size is an accessibility setting added in Patch 1.03.00 that enforces a minimum readable font size across in-game UI text. It is paired with the subtitle Max font size option added in Patch 1.04.00, giving players two layered controls over readability: a global minimum for menu and HUD text, and a separate cap on subtitle scaling.
Quick Information
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Patch added | |
Companion option | Subtitle font Max size, added in Patch 1.04.00 |
Restart required | Yes - the setting applies on the next launch. |
Scope | Menu text, HUD labels, tooltips, and inventory descriptions. |
How It Works
The setting acts as a floor rather than a fixed scale: any text element that would otherwise render below the chosen size is bumped up to the floor, while text that already renders larger remains unchanged. The effect is most visible on tooltips, inventory item descriptions, and faction quest titles, all of which used the smallest type at launch.
Pairing with Other Accessibility Options
Subtitle Max font size from Patch 1.04.00 works in tandem - global minimum for menus, larger ceiling for cinematic subtitles.
Colorblind Mode repalettes high-contrast UI elements, complementing larger fonts.
Chromatic Aberration off plus increased font size noticeably reduces UI fringing.
