Beyond its visual appeal, it stands out for a much more practical reason: it is one of the very few equipment sets in the game that can be upgraded all the way to Legendary status. Reaching Legendary tier transforms the chest piece from a strong defensive option into a powerhouse with unique cold damage mechanics that no other armor in the game can replicate.

What makes this set unusual is that the upgrade path is not uniform across all pieces. The Helm, Gloves, and Boots follow the standard Equipment Refinement system available at any blacksmith. The Plate Armor (chest piece), however, cannot be upgraded through normal refinement. Legendary Upgrade Path for the Plate Armor

Step 2: Complete the Sanctum of Devotion

After Chapter 4, you need to clear the Sanctum of Devotion. This is a story-locked dungeon that becomes accessible as part of the main narrative. The Sanctum contains combat encounters and puzzle elements, so come prepared with a solid build and plenty of healing items such as Palmar Pills. Completing the Sanctum of Devotion is a hard prerequisite; the next step will not trigger until this dungeon is finished.

Step 3: Find the Witch of Humility

Once the Sanctum of Devotion is complete, you need to seek out the Witch of Humility. This NPC is not marked on the map by default, making her easy to miss. She is found hanging off the edge of a broken bridge next to Bayon, a location in the far north of the map. To find Bayon, open your world map and look for the letter "D" in "Demeniss" on the map label. Bayon is directly lined up with that letter, far to the north.

When you arrive at the broken bridge near Bayon, look over the edge. The Witch of Humility will be clinging to the side of the bridge. Interact with her to trigger a conversation. Listen to her request carefully. She will provide the information and initiate the process needed to upgrade your Frost-Cursed Plate to Legendary status using the Cuckoo Pot.

Step 4: The Cuckoo Pot Process

After speaking with the Witch of Humility and accepting her request, you can use the Cuckoo Pot (unlocked in Chapter 4) to perform the Legendary transformation on the Frost-Cursed Plate. The Cuckoo Pot operates differently from standard refinement. It is a specialized crafting interface that handles unique, one-of-a-kind upgrades that blacksmiths cannot perform.

Place the Frost-Cursed Plate into the Cuckoo Pot along with any materials specified by the Witch's instructions. Once the process completes, the plate armor will be elevated to Legendary tier, gaining its special properties.

Tips for Completing the Prerequisites

• Do not rush Chapter 4. The story content leading up to Chapter 4 introduces mechanics you will need later. Pay attention to the Kilm and Cuckoo Pot tutorials.

• Prepare for the Sanctum of Devotion. Stock up on healing items and make sure your weapons are refined to at least Level 4 or 5 before attempting this dungeon.

• Mark Bayon on your map early. Once you know the Witch of Humility is near Bayon, place a custom waypoint so you can travel there directly after finishing the Sanctum.

• Explore the broken bridge thoroughly. The Witch is not standing in plain sight. Look over the edge of the broken bridge and check the sides. She is hanging off the edge, which makes her easy to overlook if you do not specifically search for her.

• Upgrade the other set pieces first. While waiting to unlock the Legendary path for the plate armor, invest materials into refining the Helm, Gloves, Boots, and Cloak. This ensures your defensive stats keep climbing while you progress through the story.

• Save Abyss Artifacts. Since refinement beyond Level 5 costs Abyss Artifacts, and you will also want to unlock skills, plan your spending ahead of time. Consider which skill tree nodes are essential and which can wait.

Notes on the Table

• Cloak first: looting the cloak chest forces a fast travel out, so always do it before the other pieces. The forced jump returns you to Gate of Truth, which is the natural staging point for the rest of the route.

• Frozen Anguish last: the route into the Spire of Frost runs through a frost zone. Wear the helm, gloves, and boots first to suppress the stamina drain.
