Overview
The Spire of Frost is one of eight Spire Challenges in Crimson Deserta frozen stone tower buried in the northern snowfields of Demeniss. Rather than using mirrors or boulders, its puzzle revolves around seven frozen stone lanterns that must each be cracked open and then lit. Solving it progresses The Frostwarden side quest, which falls under the Beighen Tribe faction quest Lantern-lit Frost.
At the top of the Spire, an Abyss Gate opens to the Passage of Malice, the first stage of the Abyss branch connected to this region. The Spire also counts toward the Conqueror of Spires trophy, which requires every one of the eight Spires in the game to be cleared.
Location
The Spire of Frost sits at the center of the Eye of Ice, a frozen basin in northern Demeniss reached by pushing past the Deadfire Mountains. The easiest approach is to travel east from Beighen village and cross into the Eye of Ice; the tower is visible as a dark stone silhouette against the snow. An Abyss Nexus waypoint outside the Spire allows fast travel back once the tower itself is unlocked.
The region has continuous cold damage, so either wear an ice-resistant armor set or drink Honey Tea for temporary protection before approaching. Skull Knight style enemies patrol the outer paths and can be dealt with or avoided entirely.

Requirements
The Spire of Frost does not demand a specific story chapter, but several abilities and preparations make the climb practical:
Turning Slash or Charged Shot: the seven lanterns are encased in ice and must be broken before they can be lit. A Turning Slash strike or a charged bow shot both crack the ice cleanly.
Blinding Flash: used to stun the flying specter enemies that surround the tower, and to melt the ice on the first lantern if you prefer not to hit it with a weapon. Blinding Flash is the recommended opener.
Axiom Force: required to pull Axiom Force Abyss Cells out of the interior walls during the climb.
Cold protection: Frostcursed Armor Set, Honey Tea, or other frost resistance gear prevents continuous freezing damage inside the tower.
Spirit management: Turning Slash consumes Spirit; recharge it between lanterns to avoid running dry during combat.
Walkthrough
All seven lanterns follow the same rhythm: clear the ice, light the wick, move on. The door of the Spire opens only after the very first lantern is lit.
Lantern 1 (Entrance): a frozen stone lantern blocks the door on the southern side. Use Blinding Flash with the Concentrating Light prompt to melt the ice, or strike the lantern with a fire-imbued weapon. Interact to light it and the gate opens.
Lantern 2 (First staircase, right): climb the first spiral stairs. The next lantern sits on the right side of the landing. Break the ice with Turning Slash and light it.
Lantern 3 (Outer staircase): exit through a window, cross an exterior staircase, and light the lantern at the top. While outside, pull an Abyss Cell from a wall using Axiom Force.
Lantern 4 (Re-entry, left side): slip back inside through the next window. The fourth lantern sits on the left against the inner wall.
Lantern 5 (Second interior stairs): continue up the interior stairs to a dead-end landing where lantern five waits.
Lantern 6 (Second outer staircase): exit once more and follow the outer steps. A second Abyss Cell can be pulled from the ice here with Axiom Force.
Lantern 7 (Top chamber): re-enter the tower and light the final lantern in the topmost room. The Abyss Gate opens, revealing the path to the Passage of Malice.
At the bottom of the spiral stairs, a hidden chest contains the Frozen Anguish two-handed sword and a Refined Palmar Pill. It is easy to miss on the way up, so double back once you have lit all seven lanterns.
Rewards
Frostcursed Plate Boots from completing The Frostwarden side quest.
Frozen Anguish two-handed sword from the hidden chest.
A Refined Palmar Pill from the same chest.
Two Abyss Cells pulled from ice walls during the climb.
An Abyss Artifact from the chamber at the top, aligned with the Abyss Nexus system.
Access to the Passage of Malice Abyss Gate.
Progress toward the Conqueror of Spires trophy (all eight Spires).
Tips
Pressing dodge repeatedly while frozen breaks the freeze status early.
The flying specter enemies can be skipped if you rush between lanterns, but Blinding Flash stuns them long enough to close and finish them with a ground combo.
If you run out of Spirit mid-climb, recharge first rather than swinging basic attacks at frozen lanterns; frozen stone ignores most light attacks.
Pick up Honey Tea from Beighen village before heading into the Eye of Ice. The passive freeze protection is cheap and saves consumables during the climb.
Speak to the Drunk Man in Beighen before traveling out to open the Lantern-lit Frost faction line; this tags quest progress correctly when you light the lanterns.

Element Unlocked
The Spire of Frost sits off the main questline, which is why most players finish Crimson Desert without unlocking the ice element. Completing the Spire and the associated Abyss branch is the only path to Ice Lv. 1and ice is considered one of the most valuable elements because of the boss-tier Frost Mantle skill it grants.
Element: Ice Lv. 1 after completing the Abyss branch beyond the Spire. Applies to all three characters once unlocked.
Skill unlock: Grants Frost Mantle to Kliff, a parry-style defensive skill whose window scales with the Spirit bar. Frost Mantle is considered one of the best skills in the game for boss fights.
Cross-element usability: Frost Mantle can be cast with any active imbue selected. This is why many players unlock ice purely for the skill and then keep fire as the active element for damage.
Abyss gear pairings: Ice imbue pairs with Frost Hail and Shattering Frost for mob freeze effects. Bosses resist freeze, but the visual spectacle is unmatched and frost is an excellent mob-farming element.
Location Navigation
Because the Spire of Frost is off the main questline, most players either stumble onto it during exploration or miss it entirely. The steps below explain how to reach it deliberately and what to prepare before approaching.
Region: Northern Demenissin the Eye of Ice basin past the Deadfire Mountains. The tower is visible as a dark silhouette against the snow from a distance.
Recommended approach: Travel east from Beighen village and push into the Eye of Ice. An Abyss Nexus waypoint outside the Spire unlocks on first arrival, making repeat trips trivial.
Cold damage preparation: The region inflicts continuous cold damage. Bring Honey Tea for short trips or wear an ice-resistant armor set for sustained climbing.
Associated quest: Completing the Spire progresses The Frostwarden side quest under the Beighen Tribe faction's Lantern-lit Frost quest line. This quest chain is the cleanest path to Ice Lv. 1.
Main questline note: Unlike the Spire of the Starsno story quest points players here. Track down the Spire manually during any chapter that allows travel to northern Demeniss.
