Overview
Sleeping in Crimson Desert lets Kliff skip time, remove fatigue, and fully restore HP. Fatigue builds up over time and reduces your effectiveness in combat, so resting regularly keeps you at peak performance. There are two main ways to rest: using beds and waiting at campfires.
Sleeping in Beds
Beds can be found in settlements, campsites, and your own house once you have built one. Approach an unoccupied bed and wait for the Rest button prompt to appear. You will then be prompted to choose how far to advance time: 3 hours, 6 hours, or 12 hours. Even 3 hours of sleep fully restores Kliff's HP and removes all fatigue.
Villagers do not mind if Kliff uses their beds, so feel free to use any vacant bed you find in a settlement.
Bed Locations
Location | When Available |
|---|---|
Royal Trading Post (Kliff's tent), north of Hernand City | Available early, accessible from the start of the game |
Greymane Camp tent, southeast area of Howling Hills | Unlocks after completing Chapter 2 |
Kliff's personal house near Greymane Camp | Unlocks after building your house through the housing system |
Settlement inns and houses | Any vacant bed in a town, inn, or village can be used at any time |
Resting at Campfires
When out in the wilderness without a bed, you can rest at campfires and cooking pots found throughout the world. Use Focus (hold L1/LB on controller, or CTRL on keyboard) to lock onto the campfire. You will see three options: Cook, Off, and Wait. Select Wait, then choose your time increment (3, 6, or 12 hours). A short cutscene plays before you resume control at the new time.
Resting at campfires provides the same time-skip and fatigue removal as sleeping in beds. Campfires are scattered along major roads, at rest stops, and near points of interest throughout Pywel.
Rest Benefits
HP fully restored: Even a 3-hour rest brings Kliff back to full health.
Fatigue removed: Fatigue accumulates over time and reduces combat effectiveness. Sleeping clears it entirely.
Time advancement: Useful for triggering time-sensitive events, respawning vendors, and changing from day to night or vice versa.
Rest Cooldown
You cannot sleep or wait consecutively. After resting, the game enforces a cooldown before you can rest again. If you see a message saying Kliff "cannot sleep right now," you need to walk around, fight, or otherwise engage with the world before resting again. This cooldown exists to prevent exploits such as rapidly respawning ore deposits and other timed resources.
Tips
Plan your rest increment carefully. Choosing 12 hours jumps from day to night or vice versa, which affects NPC schedules, enemy spawns, and shop availability.
Rest before tackling difficult boss fights to ensure Kliff is at full HP and zero fatigue.
Campfires near fast-travel points make convenient rest stops when exploring remote areas.
If a quest requires you to meet someone at a specific time of day, use the rest system to skip ahead rather than waiting in real time.
