Diving is an underwater exploration system added to Crimson Desert by the Charting the Unknown expansion, released on October 29, 2026 with patch 2.04.00. It is available to all three playable characters, Kliff, Oongka and Damiane, with no quest prerequisite. Beneath the waves you can find underwater treasures, sunken ruins and hidden mysteries.

Breath Gauge
A breath gauge governs how long you can stay underwater. The higher your maximum breath capacity, the longer each dive lasts. Two things help:
Refining your diving suit raises your maximum breath capacity.
Certain food items temporarily restore breath.
Diving Equipment
Pre-order buyers of the expansion received the Charter's Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka and the Charter's Light Diving Set for Damiane. On Xbox, the known issues list notes that pre-order rewards may not appear under Add-ons.
The expansion also added equipment that lets the A.T.A.G. operate underwater when equipped.
Underwater Mounts
The expansion added several underwater mounts, sharks among them. Depending on the type, you either subdue the creature or feed it to raise its Trust; once its Trust is high enough, you can register it as a mount. The map now shows separate summon-location indicators for mid-air, land and underwater mounts. For the base-game taming systems, see Mounts and Special Mounts.
Fixes
Patch 2.04.02 (October 30, 2026) fixed certain interactions becoming unavailable when holding up the lantern while diving, and an issue where a spouse or comrade would follow the player into the water. The 2.04.00 hotfix the same day fixed Damiane's Shield Toss being usable repeatedly underwater.
