Brethren Brig is a brethren variant of the Brig ship class in Windrose. A brig is a versatile war-capable ship that stands between trader and warship. Favored by captains who expect trouble. Brethren ships are true sea fortresses, thanks to their exceptionally sturdy hulls and spacious holds. However, they pay for it with speed. Build one at the Wharf with the right Ship Design plan, then outfit the cannon, hull, naval tactics, and boarding party slots before setting sail.

Property | Value |
|---|---|
Hitpoints | 90,000 |
Max Speed | 18 |
Cargo size | 32 |
Main battery | 6 guns, 12 lbs |
Crew | 50 |
Secondary | None |
Restoration cost | Medium |
The Brethren Brig is the fortress build: heavier hitpoints, more cargo, slower sail. Designed for sustained slugfests, siege-style combat, and long cargo runs where survivability matters more than speed. Brethren hulls pair naturally with Naval Tactics IV: Shipshape for out-of-combat regen and defensive hull bracings.
The hull shape is shared with the stock Brig, so the gear-by-gear speed, turn rate, and turning radius figures match that class exactly. Hull bracing, hold load, and wind angle still apply on top of the baseline values below.
Gear | Speed | Turn Rate | Turning Radius |
|---|---|---|---|
Gear -1 | -4.1 kn | -7.3°/s | — |
Gear 0 | 0 kn | 5°/s | — |
Gear 1 | 2.8 kn | 7.2°/s | — |
Gear 2 | 6.9 kn | 10.8°/s | — |
Gear 3 | 12.6 kn | 10.4°/s | — |
Gear 4 | 21.8 kn | 9.5°/s | — |

Each Brig carries dedicated slots for ship cannons, hull bracings, naval tactics, and crew equipment. The following items can be mounted on Brethren Brig at the Wharf interface once the hull is built.
Image | Cannon | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Baseline naval gun of its caliber; no modifier line. Crafted at a Shipwright's Workshop without a plan paper. | |
Hitting a target with more than 50% of a volley applies Raked for 25s; all Damage dealt to affected targets increased by 10%, stacks up to 3 (Rare). Epic ascension adds Reload speed +15%. | ||
After reloading, hitting an enemy within 4s increases reload speed by 30% for 22s (Rare). Epic ascension adds Aiming speed +30%. | ||
After reloading, waiting 6s before firing increases the next volley's Damage by 40% (Rare); Epic ascension adds Hitting a Weak Spot deals +20% bonus Damage. |
Image | Effect | |
|---|---|---|
Standard timber bracing for baseline ship survivability | ||
Fortified hull: higher raw HP under combat | ||
Taking damage no longer affects repair-kit duration | ||
Improvised hull: trades raw HP for cheap material cost |
Image | Naval Tactic | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Patient first strike: +130% damage on next volley after 2 min of neither taking nor dealing damage | ||
Aggression buff during sustained combat | ||
Reduces consumable usage for extended engagements | ||
Out-of-combat hull regeneration | ||
Suppressing fire pressure on enemy reloads |
Crew Gear | Effect |

Improves boarding party performance. |
To build Brethren Brig you must first own the Ship Design: Brethren's Brig plan. Ship design plans are typically rewarded through faction reputation quests, purchased from Provisioners at matching reputation rank, or dropped by named ships during fleet engagements.
