Naval Tactics IV: Shipshape is one of the confirmed Smuggler Rank 3 Windrose Naval Tactics unlocks in Windrose. It provides an out-of-combat hull regeneration passive that eliminates the need to return to a Wharf for minor repair between engagements.
Effect
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Trigger | Ship is out of combat (no incoming or outgoing damage) |
Regen rate | 3% of ship hull HP every 3 seconds |
Scope | Applies to all three playable ship classes |
How to Acquire
Naval Tactics IV: Shipshape is sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Reputation Rank 3. Priced in Guineas rather than Piastres, typically several hundred Guineas per purchase. Reaching Rank 3 requires sustained Smuggler reputation grinding; see Faction Reputation for the full path.
Strategic Value
Shipshape is the default passive for any ship that spends significant time exploring rather than in combat. The 3% per 3 seconds adds up to full hull regeneration in roughly 100 seconds of quiet sailing, which effectively removes the need to carry as many repair kits and lets players push further from their home Wharf without maintenance trips.
On a Frigate (160,000 HP), the 3% regen per 3 seconds restores 4,800 HP per tick. Pair Shipshape with Hull Bracing (damage reduction) and Boarding Party Gear for a solo-viable exploration loadout.
Stacking Notes
Naval Tactics occupy a dedicated ship slot, not a universal slot, so Shipshape does not conflict with Hull Bracing or cannon upgrades. Each ship has a fixed number of Naval Tactics slots; Frigates have more slots than Brigs, which have more than Ketches. Plan which tactics to equip based on the ship's slot count.
