Overview

Pokemetal is a special material in Pokemon Pokopia used for advanced crafting recipes, building projects, and operating the 3D Printer. It is rarer than standard ores like Iron and Copper, and is primarily found in Sparkling Skylands. There is also Rare Pokemetal, an even scarcer variant needed for crafting items related to Legendary Pokemon. While not infinite, Pokemetal is renewable and can be farmed through several methods.

Pokemetal Fragments

Raw Pokemetal is obtained as Pokemetal Fragments, which must be smelted into Pokemetal Ingots at a Smelting Furnace with a Burn-specialty Pokemon (Charmander, Torchic, Magmar, Arcanine, Growlithe, or Volcanion). Pokemetal Fragment blocks are identifiable by their distinctive metallic sheen on dark rock. Standard Rock Smash cannot break these blocks; the player must eat Hamburger Steak to power up Rock Smash before mining.

Mining Locations

Sparkling Skylands (Primary)

Sparkling Skylands is the primary Pokemetal farming location, with the highest concentration of fragment blocks.

A dedicated farming session across these three locations with a few Hamburger Steaks can yield 80+ Pokemetal Fragments in under five minutes, making this the most efficient bulk farming method.

Withered Wasteland

A small cache of Pokemetal Ingots (not fragments) is hidden behind vines where the player first meets Professor Tangrowth. Reaching this requires the upgraded Cut ability. Follow the railway track and turn left at the fork to find additional fragment blocks in the caves.

Rocky Ridges

A small number of Pokemetal Fragment blocks appear in the cave systems. These are sparse but useful for early encounters with the material.

Dream Islands

Pokemetal Fragments appear on Dream Islands, particularly the Sky Dream Island (Dragonite Doll) and Clefairy Dream Islands. Fragment blocks are found in deeper cave crevices. Dream Islands are visitable daily and provide a supplementary farming source.

Other Ways to Obtain

Rare Pokemetal

Rare Pokemetal is a premium variant of Pokemetal that is significantly harder to obtain. It has two acquisition methods:

• Random drops: Rare Pokemetal occasionally drops when breaking Pokemetal Fragment blocks. This is uncommon.

• Porygon2 Rarify specialty: Porygon2 can convert Star Pieces into Rare Pokemetal using its Rarify specialty. Star Pieces are crafted by compressing 99 Stardust (found as pink mounds on beaches and in caves on Dream Islands).

• Dream Island loot: 3 Rare Pokemetal can be found behind each Legendary Beast (Raikou, Entei, Suicune) on their Dream Island encounters.

Tips

• Always carry multiple Hamburger Steaks when farming Pokemetal. Each one powers up Rock Smash until your PP runs out.

• The Sparkling Skylands 3-location route (Pokemon Center island, Tinkmaster island, east island) is the most efficient farming loop.

• Set up a Smelting Furnace near your mining spot with a Burn-specialty Pokemon assigned to process fragments as you collect them.

• Save Rare Pokemetal exclusively for the Tidal Bell and Clear Bell. These are the only items that require it and cannot be substituted.

• Offer Dry-flavor food to Mosslax before visiting Dream Islands to boost Silver and Rainbow Feather drop rates, pairing well with Rare Pokemetal to craft the bells.

• Pokemetal Fragment blocks respawn over time. Revisit the Sparkling Skylands locations periodically.

• Check the Pokemon Center PC Shop daily. Pokemetal Ingots occasionally appear as affordable daily deals.
