Overview
Gastrodon is a Water/Ground-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Sea Slug Pokemon (Dex #060). Gastrodon is found at the Ocean Fishing Spot habitat (#185). It carries both the Water and Trade specialties, making it both a crop-watering helper and a trading partner at a cash register. Gastrodon appears in two regional forms: West Sea (pink/brown) and East Sea (blue/green). In the main series, Gastrodon is the evolution of Shellos, though there is no evolution mechanic in Pokopia.
Habitat
Gastrodon lives in the Ocean Fishing Spot habitat (#185). This habitat is built near ocean water:
Habitat | Requirements | Other Pokemon | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
Ocean Fishing Spot (#185) | Ocean Water | Magikarp (Common) | Rare |
Gastrodon shares the Ocean Fishing Spot habitat with Magikarp. While Magikarp is a Common visitor, Gastrodon is Rare. The habitat is straightforward to set up since it simply requires proximity to ocean water.
Location
The Ocean Fishing Spot habitat requires access to ocean water. Gastrodon can appear at any time of day and in any weather condition.
How to Befriend
Set up the Ocean Fishing Spot habitat near ocean water. After a short wait, the habitat will activate. Gastrodon is a Rare visitor, so you may need to check back multiple times. Magikarp will appear much more frequently. Walk up and interact with Gastrodon to befriend it.
Specialties
Water
Gastrodon has the Water specialty. Pokemon with the Water specialty can use a full water basin to spray water on nearby fields and plants, keeping them hydrated. This is helpful for maintaining farming areas without having to water crops manually.
Trade
Gastrodon also has the Trade specialty. Pokemon with the Trade specialty can exchange items with the player at a cash register. This gives Gastrodon a dual role as both a farming helper and a trading partner.
Regional Forms
Gastrodon appears in two visual forms in Pokopia. The West Sea form is pink and brown, while the East Sea form is blue and green. Both forms share the same specialties and preferences. They can both be found at the Ocean Fishing Spot habitat.
