Overview
Electrode is an Electric-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Ball Pokemon (Dex #097). It stands 3'11" tall and weighs 146.8 lbs, considerably larger and heavier than its pre-evolution Voltorb. Like Voltorb, Electrode carries the rare Explode and Generate specialties. Together, they are the only two Pokemon in all of Pokopia that can use the Explode ability.
The Pokedex describes Electrode: "It stores an overflowing amount of electric energy inside its body. Even a small shock makes it explode." In the main series, Electrode evolves from Voltorb at level 30. In Pokopia, evolution is not a mechanic, so Electrode must be befriended separately. While both appear in the same two habitats, Electrode can be harder to find in the Park Bench habitat where it spawns at Very Rare rarity.
Habitats
Electrode can be found in two habitats:
Park Bench (#066)
The Park Bench habitat's description reads: "After eating a snack, put your trash in the trash can....Think Pokemon can remember to do that?"
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Seat (wide) | 1 | Crafted at a workbench |
Garbage Bin | 1 | Crafted at a workbench |
Three Pokemon share this habitat: Zubat (#081) at Common rarity, Voltorb at Common rarity, and Electrode at Very Rare rarity. Encountering Electrode here requires significant patience.
Playing Pirate (#090)
The Playing Pirate habitat's description reads: "Stand in front of the wheel or right by the cannons, and you'll feel like you're sailing the open seas!"
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Barrel | 2 | Crafted at a workbench |
Ship's Wheel | 1 | Crafted at a workbench |
Cannon | 2 | Crafted at a workbench |
Two Pokemon share the Playing Pirate habitat: Voltorb and Electrode, both at Common rarity. This is the better habitat for finding Electrode since it spawns at Common rarity here instead of Very Rare.
Specialties
Explode
Electrode has the Explode specialty. Pokemon with Explode can be fired out of a cannon, destroying everything around them on impact. Only Electrode and Voltorb have this specialty in the entire game. The Explode ability is useful for clearing obstacles, demolishing structures, and opening up new areas. The Playing Pirate habitat is thematically perfect since it features cannons.
Generate
Electrode also has the Generate specialty. Pokemon with Generate can power machines with electricity. Electrode's Pokedex entry notes that it stores an overflowing amount of electric energy, making it a natural fit for this role. Assign Electrode to a generator to keep Cash Registers, lights, and automated machines running.

Tips
The Playing Pirate habitat is the recommended way to befriend Electrode. It spawns at Common rarity there, compared to Very Rare at the Park Bench. The tradeoff is that Playing Pirate requires more materials (2 Barrels, a Ship's Wheel, and 2 Cannons).
Electrode differs from Voltorb in flavor preference: Electrode likes Sour while Voltorb prefers Bitter. If you keep both, prepare both flavor types.
Electrode and Voltorb share preferences for electronics, shiny stuff, round stuff, and spinning stuff. One major difference is that Electrode likes play spaces while Voltorb prefers colorful stuff.
Station Electrode near devices that require power. Its Generate specialty combined with its high electric energy makes it an ideal power source for your island's infrastructure.
Decorate Electrode's area with electronics, shiny objects, round items, and spinning decorations to boost its Comfort Level.
