Workaholic

Overview

Workaholic is a trait added in inZOI's v0.5.0 update (December 2025). It belongs to the Competent and Ambitious category alongside Go-Getter. Traits are chosen during character creation and cannot be changed afterward. The single trait shapes how the Zoi behaves autonomously, which emotions they lean toward, how quickly their needs decay, and how they interact with other Zois.

The trait system draws from the Enneagram of Personality framework. The Competent and Ambitious pair maps to Enneagram Type 3 (The Achiever), which describes individuals driven by the desire to be successful, efficient, and recognized for their accomplishments. Workaholic and Go-Getter represent two distinct expressions of this same core type. While Go-Getter channels ambition into goal-oriented efficiency and introverted drive, Workaholic channels it into relentless career dedication and a compulsive need to keep working.

Personality

Workaholic Zois are driven by professional ambition above all else. They prioritize career advancement over personal relationships, leisure, and even basic self-care. Their sense of purpose comes from productivity, and they feel restless when not engaged in work-related activities. This makes them highly effective in demanding careers but prone to social isolation and neglected personal needs.

Keywords define the core personality tendencies. They influence autonomous behavior, conversation topics, and how other Zois perceive and react to the Workaholic. The "Workaholic" keyword itself is a distinguishing marker: it appears as a keyword for the Go-Getter trait as well, indicating strong thematic overlap between these two Type 3 traits.

Values

Each trait starts with four associated Values that the Zoi is predisposed toward. Values range from 0 to 100 and develop through gameplay. At 60 or more points, a Value becomes influential and unlocks special interactions and Urges.

Emotional Tendencies

Traits influence which emotions a Zoi experiences most often and how long certain emotions persist.

The frequent Confident emotion provides a boost to Charm skill growth speed and unlocks unique social conversations. Extended Nervousness is the tradeoff: when anxious, the feeling persists longer and can slow Performance skill growth.

Need Effects

The Recognition gauge depletes quickly for Workaholic Zois. This means the Zoi requires more frequent attention to this need than Zois with other traits. Career promotions, skill level-ups, and completed Ambitions all help satisfy the Recognition need. Letting it drop causes negative mood effects.

The Workaholic's frequent Confident emotion boosts Charm skill growth, which can be used to build business relationships even though the Zoi avoids casual conversation. The fast Recognition decay is the main challenge: keep the Zoi achieving milestones to maintain their emotional state. Career promotions, skill level-ups, and completed Ambitions all help.

Extended Nervousness is a secondary concern since it slows Performance skill growth when triggered. Avoid stress-inducing situations where possible to prevent long nervous episodes.
