Overview
The Standard Inventory Expansion Tool is a reward item in Crimson Desert that permanently increases Kliff's inventory slot count. Players start the game with 50 inventory slots, and expanding that capacity is essential because nearly every collectible material in Crimson Desert has a purpose in crafting or cooking. The inventory uses a slot-based system rather than a weight limit, and consumables and materials stack up to 50 per slot.
How to Obtain
There are three primary ways to earn Standard Inventory Expansion Tools and other inventory bag rewards.
Faction Requests
The most consistent source is completing Faction Requests. Interact with NPCs across the various factions in Pywel and select "Listen to Request" to accept a task. These tasks range from simple gathering jobs (collecting timber, herbs) to more involved assignments like clearing bandit camps or crafting specific recipes. Each completed request rewards a Standard Inventory Expansion Tool that adds a few extra inventory slots.
Check the Journal menu under the Faction Quests tab to see which available requests reward inventory expansion items before committing to a task.
Main Quest Rewards
Several main story quests grant a Standard Inventory Expansion Tool as part of their completion rewards. Confirmed quests include:
Quest | Notes |
|---|---|

Vendor Purchases
Equipment shop vendors in towns throughout Pywel sell inventory bags. Small Bags cost approximately 50 Bronze Coins each and add one inventory slot. Larger bags cost progressively more. Vendor stock is limited per shop, so check multiple towns.
Inventory Bag Sizes
Inventory expansion items come in three tiers:
Bag Type | Slots Added | Typical Source |
|---|---|---|
Small Bag | +1 | Vendors (50 Bronze Coins), minor quests |
Medium Bag | +3 | Faction requests, side quests |
Large Bag | +5 | Major quests, advanced faction requests |
Tips
Prioritize inventory expansion early. Filling up your inventory while exploring locations like Glenbright Manor or the Abyss dungeons forces frequent trips back to sell items.
Check your map regularly for available faction requests and their listed rewards before traveling to a new area.
Crimson Desert does not currently feature storage chests at launch, so carrying capacity is your only option for holding materials.
The slot-based system means that stacking materials efficiently (up to 50 per slot) is just as important as expanding the total number of slots.
