Quest Details
Detail | Info |
|---|---|
Quest Number | 114 |
Chapter | 8: Blood Coronation |
Sub-Chapter | To Demeniss |
Region | |
Type | Siege / Combat |
Prerequisite | |
Objective | Reduce enemy percentage to 0% |
Rewards | None (quest chains directly into The Cursed Knight) |
Battle Mechanics
The siege uses a percentage bar on the left side of the screen that tracks remaining rebel forces. The bar starts at 100% and decreases as you kill enemies and (optionally) destroy siege towers. When it hits 0%, the quest completes immediately.
Siege Towers (Optional)
Three tall wooden siege towers are positioned around the fortress. Destroying each one reduces the enemy percentage by roughly 5%. To destroy a tower:
Find a nearby cannon. Cannons are placed on battlements near each tower.
Aim and fire. Use the cannon to shoot the tower. It takes several hits to bring one down.
Repeat for all three. Destroying all three towers removes about 15% from the enemy bar.
Destroying towers is optional. You can reach 0% purely through killing enemies, but towers speed up the process.
The Cursed Knight Preview
Fontaine, the Cursed Knight appears at the first siege tower. He is a powerful shielded enemy who will disappear after taking some damage, only to reappear at other siege tower locations throughout the battle. This is a preview encounter; you cannot defeat him here. Avoid dying to him to preserve your health and progress.
Enemy Types
Enemy | Threat | Counter |
|---|---|---|
Standard rebels | Low | Crowd control with heavy attack combos |
Mounted enemies | Medium | Avoid positioning behind them; their kicks deal heavy damage. Attack from the side or front. |
Grappling enemies | High | Complete the QTE with Triangle/Y when grappled. Maintain above 50% health to survive if you miss the prompt. |
The Cursed Knight | Very High | Disengage. He vanishes after taking damage. Not worth fighting. |
Strategy
Crowd control is king. The Tauria Curved Sword with heavy attacks excels here, mowing down groups of standard rebels efficiently.
Keep moving. Run through sections of the fortress, clearing enemies as you go. New enemies spawn in later areas, so pushing forward generates fresh kills.
Conserve healing. The Cursed Knight boss fight begins immediately after this quest with no restock opportunity. Try to end the siege with at least 100 Grilled Meat remaining.
Ignore the upper castle marker initially. You do not need to reach the upper castle to reduce the percentage. Farming kills in lower areas works just as well.
Notes
The siege has no time limit. Take as long as you need to clear enemies and preserve your health for the boss fight that follows.
If you die during the siege, you respawn at a checkpoint. Progress (percentage reduced) is preserved.
The Cursed Knight's appearances during the siege are scripted. He cannot be killed here regardless of how much damage you deal.
