Controller Presets
Patch 1.04.00 control overhaul that introduces selectable presets for both keyboard and mouse and controller, including a Classic Preset that restores the launch-day binds. Adds evasion control, roll/evasion swap, immediate interaction, and lantern-while-aiming options.
Controller Presets are a Patch 1.04.00 addition that introduces selectable preset feature for both keyboard / mouse and controller bindings, including a Classic Preset that restores the launch-day binds. The feature is the headline of the 1.04 control overhaul, which also includes an evasion control option, a roll / evasion swap toggle, immediate interaction inputs, and several quality-of-life adjustments.
Available Presets
Preset | Use | |
|---|---|---|
Default (1.04) | New defaults shipped with Patch 1.04 reflecting the rebound interaction, dismount, and aim controls. | |
Restores the binds the game launched with. Recommended for players returning from extended breaks who built muscle memory on the original binds. |
Other Control Changes in 1.04
Evasion Control option. Roll and evasion can be triggered by either the original double-click / press input or a hold input.
Switch Roll and Evasion Input toggle. Players can swap which input performs roll and which performs evasion without re-binding individual keys.
Interaction Key immediate-action option. When pressed, the corresponding action runs immediately rather than waiting for a held confirmation.
Bound key conflict highlighting. Overlapping inputs are highlighted in yellow so the conflict is easy to spot during rebinding.
Skill Element quick-slot option. Selecting the quick slot assigns elements to each individual input so different attacks can carry different elements.
Lantern toggle while aiming, plus aim-mode priority over guard when a target is in range.
Vault rebind. Vault now requires Jump only during a different attack input, preventing accidental vaults during normal traversal.
Combined dismount, drop, and cancel binding for keyboard and mouse, with an expanded customizable key range overall.
Map opens via the DualSense touchpad hold on PlayStation and the View button hold on Xbox.
Escape key under status effects matches the evade key on keyboard and mouse so players can break out of staggers without a separate binding.
Console Parity
Patch Patch 1.04.01 added a small parity fix so the Change Preset menu displays identically on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Earlier 1.04 builds showed a slightly different layout on console.
