How Gear Enchantments Work
Gear enchantments (also called Abyss Gears) are socketable items that provide passive bonuses when embedded in equipment. They are part of the Abyss Gear system. To use gear enchantments, you need to visit a witch and select "Embed Abyss Gear" to socket them into your weapons or armor. Each piece of equipment can have multiple sockets, with the number depending on the weapon type.

How to Craft and Upgrade
Crafting enchantments requires a Gear Blueprint for the specific enchantment series, which can be purchased from witch shops. Once you own the blueprint, visit any witch and select "Craft Abyss Gear" to create the base tier (Level I).
Higher tiers (Level II and III) are created through Synthesis: combining two copies of the previous tier produces one copy of the next tier. For example, two Efficiency I become one Efficiency II. All synthesis requires the corresponding blueprint to be learned.
Special Synthesis (accessible via R2/RT in the Craft Abyss Gear menu) combines any two random Abyss Gears for a chance at a different result, including Greater variants with significantly improved effects. The chance of producing a Greater Abyss Gear is approximately 4%.

How to Obtain Enchantments
Craft at a witch: The primary method. Buy the blueprint, gather materials, and craft at any witch's "Craft Abyss Gear" menu.
Sealed Abyss Artifacts: Some Sealed Abyss Artifacts found throughout Pywel reward specific Abyss Gears when their challenge is completed.
Life Challenges: Completing Life Challenges (knowledge collection objectives) can reward high-tier enchantments. For example, "Crystals in the Veins" rewards Blessing of the Earth III and "Tiny Citizens of Grasslands" rewards Blessing of the Forest III.
Enemy drops: Low-tier Abyss Gears occasionally drop from Abyss-corrupted enemies.
Special Synthesis: Combining any two Abyss Gears for a random result (4% chance of a Greater variant).
General Tips
Extraction is free. You can remove any embedded Abyss Gear from equipment at a witch without paying Silver.
Always extract Abyss Gears before selling or dismantling equipment. Socketed gears are permanently lost if you sell the item without extracting first.
Stockpile duplicate Abyss Gears for synthesis rather than selling them. Two Level I copies become one Level II, which is a significant upgrade.
Creating additional sockets on equipment costs Silver (5 to 100+ Silver depending on the socket number), but unlocking all available slots maximizes the bonuses you can stack.
