The World of Idyll
October 27, 2026 at 04:31 AM
Clarified beta dandelion exit prompt
Idyll is the continent where Aniimo takes place, a vast and lush open world of rolling hills, coastlines, and dramatic skies. It is the home of the wild Aniimo and the proving ground for the Pathfinders who explore it.

Idyll is designed to feel alive. The creatures that appear in any given place change with the environment, the weather, passing phenomena, and the time of day, so the same area can offer different encounters from one visit to the next. This ties exploration directly to catching, rewarding players who learn the rhythms of the land.
A creature's Form is part of that. A species found in one place in its Basic Form turns up somewhere entirely different as a Highland, Snowfield or Beach Form, with a different elemental pairing attached, so the map is not one distribution of creatures but several overlapping ones. The full breakdown lives on Habitats of Idyll.

Above the continent floats Astra, a sky-bound metropolis and the game's main social hub, where Pathfinders gather, meet one another, stroll its lively streets, and take part in competitions. It connects the solitary thrill of exploration to a shared world of other players. Astra has shops, quest-giving residents, and its own landmarks.
Astra's accessory and clothing stores are present in the shipped game, alongside city quests and other activities described on Astra. The Nimbi delivery service, blind box building and pet park were shown during the Global Closed Beta; their earlier appearance alone does not establish their current implementation. The Outpost is a separate named shop and hatching location, where special eggs use the Outpost Hatchinator.
Astra carries no creature habitat entries in the index. It is a city rather than hunting ground.
The official world map names six broad regions, each with its own look and conditions that shape the Aniimo a Pathfinder finds there.
Region | Description |
|---|---|
Forest of Falling Stars | A dense purple forest upstream where Celestises glide among the starine trees like shooting stars. |
The Mistwoods | A misty swamp of withered twigs that belches bubbles and poisonous miasma, where glimmer fruits shine like glass lamps to guide travellers. |
Echoback Landing | A coastal area haunted by the song of a stranded enormous Aniimo, the answer to which hides in the Echoback singing. |
Sea of Flowers | An endless fragrant field of purple flowers. A small village known for its perfumes nestles among them and has neighboured the Aniimo for generations. |
Blitzwood | A thunder-struck wood where Bolties draw thunder that carves scorched furrows into the grassy slopes amid crackling electric sparks. |
Nimbus Fields | Nimbi bounce across this vast cloud-soft grassland where the scent of fresh grass spreads across rippling green waves. |
The perfume village in the Sea of Flowers is named Bloomville in the studio's own creature features, which credit its finest perfumes to a single small creature, Dewy. Dewy and its evolution Fragrancier both carry Sea of Flowers as a habitat, which lines the two up.

Place | What It Is |
|---|---|
Lost Isles | The arena used by the Egg Heist mode. It is a mode zone rather than an open-world region. |
Crescent Bay | The water-themed area added for the Global Closed Beta, and the habitat carried by most of the ocean-dwelling Aniimo at the end of the pre-launch index. As of September 17, 2026 the name no longer appears as an English habitat tag in the creature index, though it is still named as a water region in official mid-2026 material. |
Whisperwake Isles | The region the studio names as home to that same late-index block of creatures. Its relationship to Crescent Bay is not established as containment in either direction. None of those creatures appears in the creature index published for the launch build. |
Rosetower Wood | A distinct area with its own weather forecasting, named in beta patch notes and carried as a habitat by several creatures. |
The Homeland | The player's own area, now a multi-area map. See The RV and Homeland. |
Outpost | A shop location alongside Astra, and the site of the Outpost Hatchinator. |
Beyond the six broad regions, the creature index names further locations that appear as Aniimo habitats across the continent. A few examples of the creatures found in each are listed below; the complete lists are on Habitats of Idyll.
Named Area | Aniimo Found Here |
|---|---|
Beast Fang Ridge | |
The Argent Strait | |
Berylline Causeway | |
Rosetower Woods | |
Zephyrus Landbridge | |
Tideblossom Coast | |
Russet Highlands | |
Driftwise Meadow | |
Crescent Bay | Cheekie, Wavwal, Reefish, Coraliz, Popapus, Gachapus, Bubbeep, Shelly |
The Whisperwake Isles are the ocean region introduced alongside the Global Closed Beta, and the setting for the game's late-index Aniimo. Ten species were grouped there in the pre-launch index: Reefish, Coraliz, Cheekie, Wavwal, Bubbeep, Glameep, Popapus, Gachapus, Malangel, and Malevsera. Crescent Bay was the habitat most of them carried. As of September 17, 2026 none of the ten appears in the creature index published for the launch build, and neither does Crescent Bay as an English habitat tag. Season 1 Part 2 announces the Whisperwake Isles for October 29, 2026. As of October 24 that release is still upcoming; the announcement does not transfer the test roster into the current launch index.
The region's roster was still being tuned during the beta, and several of its Aniimo were among those excluded from the farewell sealing event described on Development.
Idyll is hosted on three regional servers, named Aniimo-America, Aniimo-Europe and Aniimo-Apac. During the Global Closed Beta the same three ran under short forms and each opened and closed on its own local clock, with Apac on UTC+8, Europe on UTC+0 and the Americas on UTC-4. A character lives on one server, and beta progress did not carry between them. Mainland China is served separately from the international build. See Servers and Cross-Play.

Point of interest | What it is used for |
|---|---|
Bloom | Reveals local terrain and provides a travel point. |
Branch | Accepts Lumin Ambers for regional upgrades and travel access. |
RV Park | Access to the vehicle, housing and farm systems. |
Sanctum | Creature-based puzzle route ending with a repaired Vein. |
Nurture | Offering interaction that summons a creature group and also supports travel. |
Morphling Memory | Behavior puzzle for identifying a disguised creature. |
Outpost | Capture reporting, shopping and special egg hatching. |
Pathfinder Challenge | NPC battle with its own lineup and rewards. |
Lumin Amber | Field or puzzle collectible for Branch upgrades. |
Lumin Marking | Viewpoint puzzle in which separate pieces must align. |
Lumin Collection | Timed energy-gathering course. |
Vein Crevice | Access point for a Legendary Vein Rift event. |
Alpha Aniimo | Field boss; use the dedicated boss guide for combat and claim rules. |
Chest | Reward container that may require traversal, a puzzle or a creature interaction. |
Dr. Glass trial | Creature-action minigame. |
Cave | Enclosed route that may contain puzzles, treasure or guarding creatures. |
Glimmer Trees illuminate paths in Mistwoods. Swamps slow movement, Nimbus Fields' peculiar clouds can help reach treasure and higher jumps, and dandelion trees provide an ascent route. Water lilies sink if stood on for too long.
In the beta demonstration, the dandelion carries the Pathfinder upward. Use the Pop prompt to leave it; the example exits onto an elevated chest platform.
Fire clears thorny growth and melts ice barriers. High ledges need an appropriate flying companion, narrow underground crawlways need Tunnel, and some viewpoints call for Jawling's perspective action. Magmarex supplies the specialized mobility tool used for flaming boulders; these are separate checks from ordinary combat damage.
