NPC Pathfinder challenges reward a prepared party and timely switching. Check which enemy is active, preserve stamina for its visible attack cue, and spend your strongest damage actions during BREAK or another safe opening.
Elite rematches generally require the corresponding first encounter or promotion assessment. Their unlocks and enemy lineups are listed separately from the ordinary overworld challenges below.

Elite fight responses
Lita
Sherro leads the fight. Prepare the appropriate counter before the opening exchange, then change your active creature as Lita changes hers: an incoming opponent can attack immediately.
A damaged Sherro can prompt Glacy to enter and heal. Move away from the healing area so the next attacker follows you out. When Sherro has not been pressured, expect the Stellarys interlude before Sherro returns; the damage-dealer cycle changes after a knockout.
Use a fourth utility slot for control, shielding or recovery after covering the damage dealers. Sleep or another reliable control effect can create a safer switching window.
Wendell
All four opponents in this lineup are Wind-bearing Highland forms. Lightning offers both useful offense and resistance to their Wind attacks; check the individual form before choosing other counters.
When Tubster enters its defensive charge, stop hitting it and retreat. Hits strengthen its response and shield. A suitable control effect can interrupt the charge before it finishes.
Cornet combines airborne movement with its multi-hit wind volley. Use ranged attacks, shielding and an interrupt rather than relying on melee reach. Dash outside the pulling tornado used by Chirpi or Tromber.
Aster
Keep a recovery or shield option ready for Thornblade and Melloblum, and bring sufficient damage for the five-minute battle limit. A build recommendation is not an entry requirement.
Draw enemies outside Leafy's EP field before committing your burst. Thornblade is especially dangerous at melee range, so keep moving or use ranged attacks while it approaches.
Rookey's hit-triggered guard can punish repeated incoming hits, but its Dark element does not grant Grass resistance. Heal it when needed instead of assuming that the guard makes it safe indefinitely.
Loulla
Stellarys is the main damage threat, backed by Fragrancier's debuffs and a pulling field. Prepare EP and your ultimate before committing your damage dealer; Light or suitable Wind attacks cover the Dark matchup.
Evade Fragrancier's skill hits to avoid its damage-amplifying debuffs. Use a verified cleanse if your party has one.
Leave the pulling field with a suitable repositioning action where possible. Repeated ordinary dashes can exhaust stamina before you are clear.
Wally
Pull the active enemy away from Leafy's field so it loses the local recovery support. When Leafy appears, evade its binding attack before moving back in.
Gracewing's healing area also protects against BREAK pressure. Kite the opponent out of that area or displace it before committing your BREAK actions.
Irisal's tracking volley strengthens while its Energy is above 45. Keep distance, watch the projectiles and preserve enough stamina to evade instead of trading hits.
Cecelia
A mobile ranged Grass attacker can circle the arena while pressuring the Water lineup. Keep recovery and EP support available so the damage dealer can continue moving.
Piopiota and Erlath supply water puddles that help Sherro. Lure the melee attacker away from those puddles to deny its terrain advantage.
Use prepared burst, including a verified clone or ultimate combination, when an enemy enters BREAK. Contract-dependent clone counts belong to the equipped skill and holder.
Jilly
Magmarex can deplete your BREAK gauge before Scorchhowl follows with a charged strike. Evade that setup or remove Magmarex first to stop the combination.
Water attackers handle the Fire pair. Water puddles can enable Sherro's longer-range slashes, allowing it to pressure the melee opponents from farther away.
Keep a second damage dealer ready for a weakened or defeated main attacker. Light coverage helps with Somniwing; recovery and EP support keep the counter sequence available.
Other fight responses
Thunder
Helgon opens with a frontal counter. Hitting it head-on can deplete your BREAK gauge and leave you exposed to Thornblade's follow-up.
Attack from behind during a defensive stance, then withdraw before the ending area hit. When Helgon vanishes upward for its aerial strike, move away from the place where you were standing.
Sophya
Use ranged pressure while Tromber is airborne. Forcing BREAK brings an airborne target into a more useful opening for melee damage.
Keep an interrupt available for Cornet's multi-hit wind volley. Lightning or Light attacks are useful against the Wind-bearing lineup.
Icy
Cover the varied lineup rather than choosing one counter for every opponent. Maintain both HP recovery and EP support while preparing BREAK openings against Pomawk and Minespine.
Evade Pomawk's damaging combo. Stellarys pausing with a yellow flash cues its falling-star attack; move before the impact.
Keep evading through Minespine's several-second meteor volley. A single successful dodge does not end the sequence.
Mario
Emberpup and Flameruff rise before their kick attacks. Dash clear of the impact area instead of remaining underneath them.
When Sparki's fire ring expands around it, leave the immediate area. Water damage covers this Fire lineup.
Sarah
Prioritize Pranky so its healing cannot sustain Shelly. Use appropriate elemental pressure and BREAK openings to finish the remaining opponent.
Nox
A blue flash from Celestis signals its dangerous star shot. Its airborne star-dropping pass is easier to avoid by moving out of the flight path.
Wisptis briefly charges before dashing. Move during that tell rather than reacting only after it reaches your creature.
The accompanying Celestis becomes Stellarys after the first victory. This is the NPC's scripted scene, not a different player evolution recipe.
Suu
Step out of Panpanta's rolling approach to preserve HP and BREAK. Draw the active opponent away from Gracewing's healing area.
Avoid Glynsera's returning blade: it prepares ice stacks for the stronger follow-up. Bring coverage for the individual Night variants rather than treating every member as having identical elements.
Leah
Flameruff rising into the air cues a kick. Fenrier flipping backward cues its spinning blade. Move clear of each setup instead of standing inside the sustained damage.
Fenmane hovers briefly before its lightning-arrow volley. Prepare a shield during that pause or time an evasive move as the arrows approach.
Keep recovery support while covering the Fire, Ice and Lightning attackers. One favorable matchup will not cover this entire lineup.
Dorothy
Susuta jumping and aiming water cues a cannon impact. Leave the target area before the blast lands.
Its dash is faster to react to. Sustained pressure or an appropriate interrupt can disrupt the setup, but do not assume that any isolated hit will cancel every charge.
Astrid
A red-glowing blade cues Thornblade's multi-hit attack. Scorchhowl rising into the air cues its diving impact; move out of the landing area.
Prepare defensive support before Luminelle enters, since it often attacks immediately. Retreat from Sherro's large water blade, then watch for the following slash.
Use the safe distance between sequences to refresh support and prepare the next BREAK opening. Check the exact enemy form before assigning an elemental counter.
Nightwolf
Dodge the two Flameruff kick tells, using BREAK openings to shorten the early exchanges while preserving EP.
Inferlupa briefly charges its spirit strike, then can follow with a pack attack. Back away from its planted stance and avoid being trapped in the repeated area damage.
Switch the active creature if successive hits are about to exhaust its BREAK gauge. Water helps against Flameruff; Light adds coverage for Inferlupa.
Talia
Rookey charges before its bounce attack. Dodge sideways to avoid the BREAK setup for the following slam. Ranged pressure from the lower side of the uneven ground can also make its approach overshoot.
Use Bouldus's boulder-charge windup to retreat, refresh buffs and recover EP. Continue ranged pressure while evading its rolling pursuit.
Shuo
Use Fire pressure and alternate BREAK with damage against Pomawk and Pawney in the opening half. Avoid taking Pawney's consecutive hits on an already depleted BREAK gauge.
Ranged attacks help against Bouldus's rolling movement. Keep burst ready when a wounded opponent yields to Glacy's healing, and avoid the freezing orb instead of letting the recovery phase drag on.
Alice
Bonesky, Fenrier and Glynsera use spinning blades. Move out of their path while refreshing support and EP between damage windows.
Force BREAK, then bring in your Fire damage dealer. Expect a wounded opponent to be replaced by Glacy's healing and keep pressure ready for that swap.
Avoid Glacy's freezing orb while pursuing the damage opportunity; losing control gives the opposing party more time to recover.
