Revision 1

This page covers the five weekly update notes NCsoft published for the Korean and Taiwanese service of AION 2 in September 2026 (September 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30). Spacetime Rift: Domination opened on September 2, and the September 9 note added the Snowfield of Sorrow Sanctuary with its Seal equipment slot, a commendation system, a Sanctuary Hall of Fame and a streamer mode. Later notes moved the Expedition Ordeal to the Fire Temple, raised Abyss damage amplification on high-tier Abyss gear, gave the Ranger elemental damage and opened the Chuseok holiday events. These notes describe the Korean and Taiwanese service only; the global service launched separately on October 5, 2026 and is not covered here. See Update History for the wider timeline, and Patch Notes: August 2026 and Patch Notes: October 2026 for the neighbouring months.

September 2, 2026

Spacetime Rift: Domination

An event battle in the Verteron and Altgard territories in which each faction is split into attack and defense sides and fights to take or protect the majority of a group of Strongholds.

• Schedule: every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, at the 8 PM and 11 PM Spacetime Rift times.

• The attacking and defending sides swap weekly: week 1 is fought in Verteron with the Elyos defending, week 2 in Altgard with the Asmodians defending.

• Entry requirements (all must be met): character level 50 or higher, item level 4,500 or higher, combat power 500.0k or higher, and the achievements "Verteron Stronghold Sweep VI" (베르테론 주둔지 소탕 VI) and "Altgard Stronghold Sweep VI" (알트가르드 주둔지 소탕 VI), which require clearing every Stronghold in both territories.

• Applying: players holding at least one event key can apply through the Domination notifier UI. Three keys are added automatically each week, and one is used when the event reward is received. While the event is active, the [Join] button only works in the defending territory.

• Participants: 60 minimum to 200 maximum per side.

• Timing: the battle starts five minutes after the Spacetime portal appears and runs for 25 minutes. Players can join during the ten minutes the portal stays open.

• Other content such as Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary dungeons cannot be used while the battle is running.

S-PvP Mode

• S-PvP mode switches on automatically when the preparation time ends.

• Only characters in S-PvP mode can fight each other; field monsters, NPCs and characters in normal mode cannot be attacked. Field guards can still attack S-PvP characters.

• An option can show S-PvP characters with a unified nameplate and appearance.

Stronghold Groups and Victory

Five Strongholds in the defending territory form a group, and one group opens at random each time the event runs. The English Stronghold names come from the game's client data; see Strongholds and Sealed Dungeons.

• A Stronghold is taken (and its defense fails) when all three Monoliths in and around it are destroyed.

• The attackers win by taking three or more of the five Strongholds; the defenders win by holding the majority until time runs out.

• Contribution comes from destroying Monoliths, killing guardians and killing enemy characters. Rewards go to players above a minimum contribution, according to their contribution ranking within their class.

• Players can leave with the [Exit] button and rejoin through the UI after a set time. Players who return to their home server after dying and resurrecting there, or after a disconnect, keep their participation for a set time and can rejoin through the UI; when that time runs out they are withdrawn automatically.

New Items and Missions

• A dedicated Domination Kisk was added, sold by general goods merchants and by the Wind Breeze Merchants (산들바람 상회). Anyone can register or leave it regardless of party or force, it holds more players than a Legion Kisk, and only the attacking side can place and use it during the battle.

• Domination missions were added under Season Mission > Server > Weekly/Season.

• Play in Domination does not count toward field achievements or the kill missions under the Spacetime Rift season mission (Challenge > Season).

Abyss

• Watcher Kaira in the lower layer of the Abyss, Ereshuranta, now has a 100% spawn chance instead of 20%, and appears every four hours counted from 00:00. She still appears at a random point each time, with no difference in odds between spawn points.

• The stats of Abyss bosses and Dimensional Cores, and the contribution available through PvP, were raised sharply again. NCsoft said the values may be adjusted further.

Class Changes

For the Templar, NCsoft addressed the loss of efficiency when chaining skills that use Vicious Strike, and redistributed skill damage to widen skill choice. For the Chanter, Spinning Strike became a ranged attack for flexibility in dungeon fights, and skill damage was adjusted to make up real combat damage. For the Gladiator, passives that failed while a low-level Stigma buff was active were fixed.

Planned for Next Week

• Templar: Shield Smite becomes usable while moving by default, with an improved animation.

• Assassin: Illusive Clone gains extra damage while active and better hit feedback.

• Spiritmaster: further damage improvements after the Elemental Fusion bug fix lowered its damage.

• Cleric: PvE damage improved by adjusting its comparatively low damage.

Improvements

• Some Spacetime Rift missions under Season Mission > Challenge > Weekly changed: the "Pride of the Elyos/Asmodian Army" (천군/마군의 자랑) and "White/Black Flags Flying" (백색/흑색 깃발 휘날리며) missions were merged, so killing an enemy faction player anywhere in Verteron, Altgard, Eltnen or Morheim counts. Kills in Spacetime Rift: Domination do not count.

• The maximum stack size of some items was raised, including Amplify Stone Fragment (Bound), Sync Stone Fragment (Bound), Transfer Stone Fragment (Bound), Arcana fusion crystals and crystal fragments (Bound), and Unstable Stigma Shard (Bound). The change takes effect when the inventory sort function is used.

Bug Fixes

• The general goods shop sell price of Mysterious Crystal (Bound), Harmonious Crystal (Bound) and Noble Crystal (Bound) was set to 5,000 Kina.

• Dismounting a pet while falling now blocks skill use, the same as a falling player character.

• Consumed Deus Research Base (Expedition) and Deus Research Base (Transcendence): fixed the hit timing of one of Atiel's skills not matching its animation.

• Fixed no system message appearing when Abyss entry failed because the Abyss was full.

• Fixed whirlwinds not spawning at some spots in the Elyos Mysterious Track (신비로운 트랙) event.

• Fixed being unable to enter a Dimensional Invasion while in combat or flying. The mobile fix was scheduled for the September 9 update.

Compensation

• After the August 26 update, a malfunction in the sale listing and bulk sell functions caused some players to sell large numbers of items by accident. Players who used up Item Recovery > NPC Shop Sold Items recovery uses because of this have their recovery count reset.

September 9, 2026

A revision on September 9 added a note about the skill window to the Improvements section.

Sanctuary

• A new Sanctuary, the Snowfield of Sorrow (비탄의 설원), was added with Easy, Normal and Hard difficulties (Sanctuary Raids).

Seal

• A new equipment slot, the Seal (인장), was added. Seals are crafted, or made through material conversion from Kina and the Gear Change Voucher obtained in the Snowfield of Sorrow.

New Equipment

• New Draconic crafting designs were added for [True] Genesis Dragon Lord and [True] Nemesis Dragon Lord ([진] 창룡왕/멸룡왕) weapons and guards.

• New designs let Radiant Genesis and Radiant Nemesis Dragon Lord weapons and guards be upgraded into the [True] versions through Succession Crafting.

• Material conversion of Liberated White Night (해방된 백야) weapons and guards yields the crafting materials for the [True] gear.

Expedition and Sanctuary Draconic Materials

The seven Draconic crafting materials from Expedition and Sanctuary Odyle Energy cubes (분노의 사념, 의지, 자아, 염원, 승화, 신념 and 성화; no official English names yet) were redistributed:

• Krao Cave, Draupnir, Urugugu Canyon, Vakron Sky Island, the Fire Temple, the Ferocious Horn Den, Dying Dramata's Nest and the Cradle of Nihility now drop them in bound form only.

• The Hall of Illusion, Azure Breath Island, the Citadel of the Fallen Daeva and the Consumed Deus Research Base now drop all seven in both bound and tradeable form.

• The Chalice of Muspel now drops all seven in bound form.

Soul Binding

• Philosopher's Stone: Truth (Bound) (현자의 돌: 진리) was added. Ten Philosopher's Stone: Power (Bound) convert into one through material conversion (Soul Inscription and Soul Binding).

Abyss

• Artifact and Abyss Corridor occupation was reset by the server rematch; NCsoft pointed players to its community notice for the results (Server Matching).

Abyss Rift Zone

• Boss monsters in the Abyss Rift Zone had their stats raised.

• Eight of its bosses become invincible for 25 seconds when their HP falls below a set level, up to twice.

• The make-up of each phase changed, lowering the total number of bosses.

• Because there are fewer bosses, the Rift Bundle (균열의 꾸러미) reward from each boss was increased.

• Abyss Rift Zone missions were added under Season Mission > Abyss > Weekly/Season.

Dimensional Invasion

• Selecting the entry icon now shows details such as the title and rewards before entering.

Streamer Mode

• A streamer mode option was added under Settings > Other > Account.

• Hiding account information and hiding the character's name can be set separately.

• With name hiding on, the character's name is replaced by "@Player" everywhere it would appear.

Closet

• Patterns under Customize > Pattern can now be resized horizontally and vertically on their own.

• With [Keep Aspect Ratio] on, resizing keeps the ratio as before; with it off, width and height change independently.

Succession Crafting

• Succession materials now have a required enhancement level, and only equipment that meets it can be used.

Commendations

• After the final boss of an Expedition, Transcendence, Ordeal or Sanctuary dungeon is killed, players can commend another player.

• A commendation needs a target and a reason, and only one can be given per dungeon clear. The popup stays open for a limited time.

• Results can be checked once every commendation is done. Commendations accumulate per character and are shown in the character information window.

• Players who can give commendations: party members who reached a set contribution when the final boss died, and party members still in the party and in the dungeon at that point.

• Players who can receive them: the same two groups, plus, in Sanctuaries, members of the player's own party.

• Commendation achievements were added under Achievements > Growth > Custom (Achievements and Titles).

Sanctuary Hall of Fame

• Records and displays the first, second and third kills of a Sanctuary's final boss across all servers. It applies to the Snowfield of Sorrow on Hard.

• Each record keeps the character name, server name, Legion name, class, the highest combat power and highest item level reached during the run, force order, the date and the time taken to clear.

• Characters with no contribution are not recorded. Records do not change if a character, server or Legion is later renamed.

• It is viewed from the Hall of Fame tab at the top left of the Sanctuary entry screen.

Spacetime Rift: Domination

• A [Domination] tab was added to the world map while Domination is preparing or running, showing the overall state of the battle. Clicking the icon to the left of a battle's title in the Domination notifier jumps to the world map centred on that battle.

• Each group now has four Strongholds instead of five. Attackers win by taking three of the four; the note states that defenders win by protecting three or more.

• Battle length changed from 25 to 15 minutes.

• Flight time consumption is reduced by 50% while taking part.

• Contribution is now limited for killing the same character repeatedly within a set time, and contribution for assisting in an enemy kill was lowered slightly.

World Marker

• A World Marker (월드 징표) that can be placed on the ground in the open world, Expeditions, Transcendence, Sanctuaries and the Abyss was added.

• It is used from the World Marker button next to the minimap, or with a hotkey set under Settings > Key Settings > Menu (World Marker, under Content).

• It follows the same rules as existing markers, and its popup can be moved.

Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary

• Fixed outlines not showing when hovering the mouse over key interactable objects.

• Consumed Deus Research Base: the monsters placed before Supervisor Gromkas were changed.

• Sanctuaries: entering a boss room now creates a portal at the starting point that leads to the front of the boss room.

Class Changes

UI Improvements

• Succession: the material slot is shown from the first step; the confirmation popup now previews the result based on the item being upgraded, and a checkbox must be ticked before proceeding.

• Abyss equipment set effects: the PvE stats on Abyss equipment were changed or removed depending on the equipment tier, as below.

• Fixed the force order in a dungeon's waiting room not matching the order inside the dungeon.

All values are PvE Abyss damage amplification.

It ends when no boss remains on the map.
