Vakron Sky Island is an Expedition dungeon in AION 2. Vakron Sky Island is the English name NCsoft used in its December 17, 2025 announcement; the Korean name is 바크론의 공중섬, which some English coverage translates as Bakron's Floating Island. It was among the Conquest dungeons running in the first week of the Korean and Taiwanese service.
As of October 7, 2026, NCsoft's global notices have not listed which Expedition dungeons are open in the global build that launched on October 5, 2026; they say that all instanced content, including dungeons, is available cross-server. Everything on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese service unless it says otherwise.

Modes
Exploration and Conquest are available, with Conquest Hard added on December 17, 2025. On April 8, 2026 the Exploration version moved to a cost of 40 Odyle Energy, gained better rewards and a one-time guaranteed reward for the first three clears. NCsoft's February 2026 appreciation coupon included a Vakron Armor +10 Selection Chest.
Entry Requirements
Mode | Minimum level | Minimum item level |
|---|---|---|
Exploration | 45 | 1,400 |
Conquest Normal | 45 | 1,400 in the game data; 1,600 in a June 2026 player-compiled table |
Conquest Hard | 45 | 2,500 |
Ordeal (July 15 to September 23, 2026) | 50 | 4,800 |
Levels and item levels are the game data's, except the Ordeal gate, which is NCsoft's; a June 2026 player-compiled table gives the same Hard figure. Exploration has cost 40 Odyle Energy since April 8, 2026; before that its cube paid 1,500 Enhancement Stones against 2,000 for Conquest. The Conquest bosses were raised in level on November 21, 2025.
Route
While the party moves across the island a debuff stacks up slowly. NCsoft's notes call it Vakron's gaze: at three stacks Vakron's thorns bind the player, and standing near one of the fog spirit stones scattered across the map clears it. It does not build up during boss fights. After the first boss the route drops to a stone wall that has to be broken, a windstream, and a barrier that opens when its Odyle rock spirit guardian dies. A free-flight stretch follows in which the party collects four elemental orbs and places them on an altar to open the door to Vakron.
Bosses
Order | Boss | Korean name | Key mechanics |
|---|---|---|---|
First | 티에 (탐식의 티에) | Poison aura that hurts players standing together; a flower phase in which the party stacks, then lays poison pools in a tight circle | |
Second | 타몬 (불굴의 타몬) | Rising stones petrify players; a red aura absorbs physical damage and a purple aura absorbs magic damage | |
Final | 바크론 (바위군주 바크론) | Thorn binding on a marked player, Rock Prison, Rising Thorns rings; enrages if the fight runs long |
English boss names come from the game client's English data; the Korean notes add the titles shown in brackets.
Boss Mechanics
Tiere
Tiere starts the fight with a poison aura on every player that drains health quickly whenever party members stand close together, so the group fights spread out; NCsoft lengthened the damage interval of this Zone of Solitude effect on January 14, 2026. When Tiere calls on the flowers to bloom, detoxifying Rafflesia flowers appear: breaking one opens a green zone where the whole party stacks, which lifts the aura for a while. Tiere then fires slowing poison at every player, and the group sidesteps together so the lingering pools land close to each other. A leaping slam ends the phase; it lost its knockdown on December 17, 2025. Antidotes clear the slowing poison.
Thamon
Thamon stomps and makes stones burst from the ground; anyone they hit is petrified, and petrified players take far more damage from the slam that follows, so allies free them by attacking the stone. During the fight Thamon glows red or purple. Red means he absorbs physical damage and purple means he absorbs magic damage, so the matching classes stop attacking until the colour fades. Since May 27, 2026 his projectiles can no longer be jumped over.
Vakron
Vakron marks a player, whose health bar turns green, then damages the area around them and binds them in thorns; others break the binding by attacking it. Since January 2026 the target is random rather than the nearest player. In Rock Prison he locks his stagger gauge, pulls everyone to him and raises a ring of rocks, and the party escapes by breaking the red rock. Rising Thorns turns the floor red and sends out three rings to jump over before a final hit, which has stunned rather than bound players since December 31, 2025; jumping again straight after the third ring avoids it. If the fight drags on he enrages. On Hard his missiles leave pools that last the whole fight and his binding is followed by a close-range blast.
The First Expedition Ordeal
On July 15, 2026 the Korean service opened the first Expedition Ordeal on Vakron Sky Island, at character level 50 and item level 4,800. It offered four settings of stages 1 to 4 each, for a total difficulty between 4 and 16, with a dedicated currency spent at the Ordeal shop in the Expedition menu. It closed on September 23, 2026 when Fire Temple took over the Ordeal.
Player guides for the Ordeal version note that revival allowances are counted per boss and reset when the next boss begins, and that the highest boss settings give Vakron a poisoning touch, bind two players at once and add more vine lines after half health. NCsoft added a retry option inside the Ordeal on July 29, 2026 and fixed Tiere's direction marker on July 22 and a missing attack range warning in the Ordeal on August 19.
Kina and Material Changes
April 8, 2026: Conquest and Exploration Kina became bound Kina.
July 1, 2026: Conquest Hard Kina became bound Kina.
September 9, 2026: Draconic crafting materials became bound only.
Drop Rates
Source | Unique-grade gear | Hero-grade gear |
|---|---|---|
Final boss, Conquest Normal | 10% (raised from 7.5%) | 0.5% |
Each mid-boss, Conquest Normal | 5% (raised from 3.75%) | 0.25% |
Final boss, Conquest Hard | 20% | 1% |
Each mid-boss, Conquest Hard | 10% | 0.5% |
Drop rates are the ones NCsoft published when it raised Conquest Normal rewards and added Hard on December 17, 2025. Each named boss the party kills adds its own loot list to the Odyle Energy Cube opened after the final boss, which is why full clears pay more than runs that skip to the end.
