Odyle Energy is the resource that gates instanced PvE. Before the Chapter 1 update on July 1, 2026 you spent a ticket to enter an Expedition or a Transcendence dungeon. NCsoft removed those tickets, deleted the existing ones from inventories and storage, and moved the cost onto Odyle Energy instead. The practical difference is that the resource now sits on the reward side as well as the entry side.
What It Costs
Content | Odyle Energy |
|---|---|
Expedition, Exploration | 40 on the Korean and Taiwanese build |
Expedition, Conquest Normal | 40 |
Expedition, Conquest Hard | 60, with rewards scaled up to match |
80, doubled from 40 in the Chapter 1 update |
Those figures are the live-build values at the time of writing. NCsoft has adjusted them more than once, and the Expedition figure moved during Chapter 1, so treat any single number as a snapshot rather than a constant.
Odyle Energy Cubes
The payout side runs through Cubes. When you clear, you open a reward Cube and inject Odyle Energy into it to take a reward. How many selections you get from a Cube is one of the things a Membership changes.
Without an active Membership | With the Special Quai Membership |
|---|---|
One injection when opening a reward Cube from Expedition Exploration, Expedition Conquest or Transcendence | Two injections, and Sanctuary Cubes become eligible as well |
Base Odyle Energy capacity | Increased capacity |
NCsoft has said the size of the capacity increase will be announced later, so the benefit is confirmed and the number is not.
Contribution Threshold
Odyle Energy rewards are tied to contribution rather than to attendance. The minimum contribution required to qualify inside Expeditions and Transcendence dungeons was raised from 1 percent to 5 percent, and NCsoft flagged that the threshold may move again. The Korean and Taiwanese build also added a Sprout Badge that grants extra Odyle Energy when a badged new or returning player runs Expedition, Transcendence or Sanctuary content with you.
Why It Matters
Odyle Energy is the reason AION 2's instanced PvE has a weekly shape without a hard lockout on entries. You can keep running dungeons, but the energy budget decides how many of those runs actually pay. That makes it the resource to watch when planning a week, and it is also the clearest place where the paid Membership touches throughput rather than cosmetics.
Naming Note
NCsoft's own English material writes Odyle Energy. Translated Korean coverage has rendered the same term as Od Energy, and the material it is refined from appears as Ode and as Odylium in different places in the world's own fiction. Odyle Energy is the form used for the resource here.
