Urugugu Canyon is an Expedition dungeon in AION 2 for parties of up to five players. It was in the Expedition roster from the opening of the Korean and Taiwanese service on November 19, 2025, and it is one of the four Expeditions on NCsoft's English global teaser site.
As of October 7, 2026, NCsoft's global notices have not listed which Expedition dungeons are open in the global build that launched on October 5, 2026; they say that all instanced content, including dungeons, is available cross-server. Everything on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese service unless it says otherwise.

Modes
The dungeon has Exploration and Conquest versions. Conquest Hard was added on December 17, 2025, with better odds of Hero and Unique gear and Draconic materials than Normal. Conquest Normal gives a guaranteed Gear Change Voucher, which converts a weapon from this dungeon into another weapon from the same set. NCsoft's February 2026 appreciation coupon included an Urugugu Weapon +10 Selection Chest.
Entry Requirements
Mode | Minimum level | Minimum item level |
|---|---|---|
Exploration | 28 | 300 |
Conquest Normal | 45 | 1,400 in the game data; 1,600 in a June 2026 player-compiled table |
Conquest Hard | 45 | 2,500 |
Levels and item levels are the game data's; a June 2026 player-compiled table gives the same Hard figure. Exploration costs 20 Odyle Energy. When NCsoft added Enhancement Stones to Expedition cubes in proportion to the Odyle Energy spent on November 26, 2025, Urugugu Canyon paid 1,000 for Exploration and 2,000 for Conquest. On November 21, 2025 the Conquest bosses were raised in level.
Route
The two mid-bosses stand in separate areas near the start and can be taken in either order. Past them, an elite wind mage guards the way forward; killing it raises a windstream that carries the party up, and jump pads and updrafts lead on to the final arena. Only the Kisk before the final boss matters for a full run.
Bosses
Order | Boss | Korean name | Key mechanics |
|---|---|---|---|
Mid-boss | Guardian Captain Raur | 수호대장 라우르 | From 70% health a counter stance: stop attacking or the reflected damage powers up the blast that ends it |
Mid-boss | Judge Urahum | 심판자 우라훔 | Attacks apply a short poison that bursts into a lingering pool; faster from 65% health |
Final | 신성한 아울도르 | Enrage gauge, feather fan that lifts players into the air and a grab-and-slam, tornado phases and a shared strike |
The English boss names come from the game client's English data.
Boss Mechanics
Guardian Captain Raur
According to player guides, from about 70% health Raur plants his shield and calls on the party to strike him. During this short counter stance every hit is reflected to the attacker and stacks up the blast he releases when the stance ends, so the correct answer is to stop attacking entirely. If nobody hits him, nothing happens; the closing blast can also be blocked or dodged with precise timing. Between stances he dashes at the tank, leashes a tank who strays too far and jumps onto random players.
Judge Urahum
Most of Urahum's attacks put a short poison on whoever they hit. When it runs out it bursts and leaves a poison pool on the floor for a long time, so blocking or dodging the hits in the first place keeps the arena clean. Player guides report that from about 65% health Urahum gains a buff to movement and attack speed and adds a claw dash and a three-stage area combo.
Divine Auldor
The final boss carries an enrage gauge in the middle of its health bar that drains over time; if it empties, Auldor's attacks become far stronger. Its feather fan launches anyone it hits into the air, and Auldor then seizes one of them, rises and slams down with rings of damage spreading outwards. At set health thresholds it moves to the centre, sends tornadoes across the room and marks one player for a strike that the whole party must stack on to share. See Divine Auldor for the Hard changes. A December 10, 2025 patch stopped its gust from air-binding player summons.
Kina and Material Changes
April 8, 2026: Kina from Conquest and Exploration became bound Kina.
July 1, 2026: Kina from Conquest Hard became bound Kina, and the weekly Expedition reward limits were removed.
September 9, 2026: Draconic crafting materials from the cube became bound only.
Drop Rates
Source | Unique-grade gear | Hero-grade gear |
|---|---|---|
Final boss, Conquest Normal | 10% (raised from 7.5%) | 0.5% |
Each mid-boss, Conquest Normal | 5% (raised from 3.75%) | 0.25% |
Final boss, Conquest Hard | 20% | 1% |
Each mid-boss, Conquest Hard | 10% | 0.5% |
Drop rates are the ones NCsoft published when it raised Conquest Normal rewards and added Hard on December 17, 2025. Each named boss the party kills adds its own loot list to the Odyle Energy Cube opened after the final boss, which is why full clears pay more than runs that skip to the end.
