Assassin is the single-target burst class. It opens from stealth, builds a stacking resource, and spends it on one target rather than spreading pressure. That makes it the roster's sharpest duellist and its least forgiving pick, since a missed window costs the whole sequence.
Field | Detail |
|---|---|
Role | Melee damage, single-target burst |
Weapon | Two daggers |
Signature mechanic | Stealth, poison, an illusory clone, and a stacking bloodlust payoff |
Party fit | Damage in five-player Expedition and ten-player Sanctuary content, and a priority pick in small-scale PvP |
How It Plays
Stealth is the class identity rather than a utility button: openers are stronger from invisibility, and the kit carries a decoy clone for repositioning. Poison gives it damage that keeps running while it is out of contact, and the stacking payoff means the class wants an uninterrupted sequence on one target rather than a rotation it can pause.
Party Synergy
Assassin is one of the four classes that lost party-wide synergy effects in the April 21, 2026 balance pass. Skills that used to apply to allies were made self-only or replaced with self-only versions, with the stated intent of keeping the damage classes strong in solo and small-group content while giving the tank and support classes a clearer reason to fill their roles in full Sanctuary groups.
The August 12, 2026 pass trimmed an Assassin critical-damage bonus and reworked its defence-reduction skill, which shifted some of its ceiling from raw crit scaling toward setup.
In PvP
Stealth, burst and mobility make Assassin one of the strongest picks in the Abyss and in the Arena, where flight is off and positioning is everything. The game-wide flat 30 percent cut to PvP damage in the July 8, 2026 pass lengthened every duel, which hits an all-in burst class harder than a sustained one.
Shared Systems
Every class runs the same underlying loop: tab-targeting with active dodge and parry, skill chains that prompt a follow-up key, a Groggy stagger gauge on bosses, and Perfect Block or Perfect Dodge windows on a well-timed input. Loadouts hold twelve active skills, a set of Stigma slots and ten passives, allocated with Mastery Points and Stigma Shards.
Naming and Sourcing
Ability names on this page are translated from Korean patch notes for the Korean and Taiwanese live build. NCsoft has not published official English names for most individual skills, so treat any single ability name as provisional and any single number as a live-build snapshot.
