Azure Breath Island is an Expedition dungeon in AION 2 and the second new dungeon of Season 3. It opened on the Korean and Taiwanese service on April 22, 2026 with Exploration, Conquest Normal and Conquest Hard. The Korean name is 푸른 숨의 섬. Azure Breath Island is the name in the game client's English data. Earlier English coverage translated it as Island of Blue Breath, and as of October 2, 2026 NCsoft has not used either English name in an announcement.

As of October 7, 2026, NCsoft's global notices have not listed which Expedition dungeons are open in the global build that launched on October 5, 2026; they say that all instanced content, including dungeons, is available cross-server. Everything on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese service unless it says otherwise.

Boss Mechanics
Wise Baumnute
Baumnute shields himself with Indomitable Veil, drawing on a crystal, and has to be staggered from behind while the party avoids his attacks. Lightning strikes players who stray from him and chains between players and crystals standing close together. After the veil comes a wipe attack, and many groups fail at the moment he jumps and opens his stagger window. On April 29, 2026 NCsoft turned the stun of his lightning into damage over time, made the veil's lightning target players beyond 8 metres instead of 5, and stopped certain Chanter, Gladiator, Cleric and Sorcerer invulnerability skills from negating the wipe attack. See Wise Baumnute.
Expanding Xyrepe
The mushroom boss spits poison and spreads spore zones. Write-ups treat it as the easiest fight in the dungeon: players take a coloured zone at the start, drop their pools away from the group and, during its bullet pattern, collect orbs of their own colour for a damage bonus. Since April 29, 2026 its mushroom zone disappears as soon as it dies.
Awakened Alturadon
Alturadon absorbs the blue orbs of Blue Breath scattered around the arena and wipes the party if it collects ten stacks, so players pick up the small orbs first. Large orbs it bursts release more small orbs; it announces that it will swallow the blue light and slams its forefoot before absorbing those, which gives the party time to grab them. Near the end, in the Trial of the Awakened Beast, it moves to the corners of the arena and charges a marked player, smashing any crystal pillar in its path and releasing more orbs, so the marked player leads it towards a corner without pillars and sidesteps. A heavy stagger then opens the way to the kill. NCsoft made it watch its target longer before charging on April 29, 2026 and fixed it occasionally marking two players on May 13. See Awakened Alturadon.
Reward Changes
April 22, 2026: part of the cube Kina in Expeditions moved to the loot lists of the mid-bosses.
April 29, 2026: the Odyle Energy Cube gained a Unique-grade earring and a Hero-grade ring, and loot from the mushroom monsters was removed.
May 13, 2026: cube Kina rose from 705,000 to 810,000 on Normal and from 705,000 to 1,005,000 on Hard.
September 9, 2026: it became one of four Expeditions that drop all seven Draconic materials in both bound and tradeable form.
Kina is paid as bound Kina in Exploration; regular, tradeable Kina in Conquest Normal and Hard. On April 29, 2026 NCsoft also fixed the Blue Breath Ursus monsters so that they drop their monster soul item.
