Overview
Palm is a ground-plantable palm tree in Windrose. Unlike Seedbed crops, palms grow on open terrain and are the primary farmed source of Wood at a player settlement, alongside dropping Palm Seeds for continuous replanting. A single Palm Sapling requires only one Palm Seed to plant and matures in a little over an hour of real-time growth.
Palms cluster naturally in the Coastal Jungle along beaches and near giant unchoppable trees, which is the same pattern that clusters Bananas. For a stable Wood income at a permanent base, planted palms on open ground are more space-efficient than Seedbed crops, which are gated on Fertile Soil and occupy a fixed slot count.
Farming
Palm Sapling is the plantable form of Palm. It grows on the open ground rather than in a Seedbed for Plants, so it does not compete with Seedbed slots at a base. It matures in 1h 10m of real-time growth, then yields the outputs listed in the harvest table below. Replanting is self-sustaining: every harvest refunds at least one seed.
Planting
Planting requirements for open-ground placement. The ground variant can be clustered densely in an outdoor grove because it does not consume Seedbed slots.
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Sapling Name | |
Placement | Ground only |
Sapling Tier | Tier 1 (starter) |
Seed Required | Palm Seeds x1 |
Growth Time | 1h 10m |
Harvest
Quantities below are the per-harvest ranges at 100% chance. The seed drop refunds the planting cost, so a single sapling produces a net gain on every cycle.

Wild Palm Trees
Felling wild palms differs from harvesting a planted Palm Sapling. Output depends on where the tree grows:
Tree Location | Drops | Tool |
|---|---|---|
Beach and forest edge | Axe | |
Deep inland canopy | Wood, multiple Palm Seeds |
Notes
Wild seeds come from inland trees only. Large Palm trees deeper inside the Coastal Jungle drop multiple Palm Seeds when felled. Palms along the beach and forest edge yield only Wood and Coconut, no seeds, so push past the shoreline to gather seeds.
Fell the tree completely. Chop an inland palm with an Iron Axe until it disappears from the ground. Partial cuts give Wood only, and the seed drop is not guaranteed on every tree, so expect to work through several.
The Palm Sapling is Tier 1 (starter), available immediately with no station prerequisite beyond the Palm Seeds itself.
Palm Seeds drop from Palm trees only. Banana Seeds come from the separate Banana tree species, so scouting for both means sweeping the Coastal Jungle for Palms and Bananas as distinct canopies.
