Overview
Tyranitar is a Rock/Dark-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Armor Pokemon (Dex #171). Extremely strong, it can change the landscape. It is so insolent that it doesn't care about others. Tyranitar is the final stage of the Larvitar family, following Pupitar. It carries two specialties: Bulldoze and Crush, making it a powerhouse for clearing terrain and breaking down materials.
Habitat
Tyranitar can be found at two habitats. It is a Rare visitor at Toil in the Soil and a Very Rare visitor at Mossy Rest Spot, so patience is required.
Toil in the Soil (#108)
A thriving vegetable field. Replacing the soil every so often provides fresh nutrients.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Vegetable Field (any) | 4 | Any type of vegetable field works |
Wheelbarrow | 1 | Found or crafted |
Tyranitar is a Rare visitor at this habitat. It is available during all times of day (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy).
Mossy Rest Spot (#110)
All that nice, damp moss makes this a great location for Pokemon who love humid places.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Moss | 4 | Found in damp or shaded areas |
Tyranitar is a Very Rare visitor at this habitat. Larvitar (Common) also visits the Mossy Rest Spot, so building this habitat lets you encounter both family members. Available at all times and in all weather conditions.
Location
Both habitats can be placed in any area. The Toil in the Soil habitat requires four Vegetable Fields and a Wheelbarrow, while the Mossy Rest Spot only requires four Moss. Tyranitar prefers dark environments, so placing these habitats in shaded or cave-like areas may complement its preferences.
How to Befriend
Build either the Toil in the Soil or Mossy Rest Spot habitat. The Toil in the Soil habitat offers a better chance since Tyranitar appears there as Rare rather than Very Rare at the Mossy Rest Spot. Check the habitat regularly and interact with Tyranitar when it appears.
Specialties
Bulldoze
Tyranitar has the Bulldoze specialty. Pokemon with the Bulldoze specialty can flatten and clear terrain, removing obstacles like rocks and debris from the surrounding area. This is useful for preparing land for building or farming.
Crush
Tyranitar also has the Crush specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can break down large objects and materials into smaller components. This helps with gathering raw materials from boulders, ore deposits, and similar heavy objects.

Evolution Family
Tyranitar is the final stage of a three-member family. In the main Pokemon series, Larvitar (Dex #169) evolves into Pupitar (Dex #170) at level 30, and Pupitar evolves into Tyranitar at level 55. In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each member must be found at its own habitat independently. Tyranitar shares the Mossy Rest Spot habitat with Larvitar.
Tips
Tyranitar is one of the harder Pokemon to find due to its Rare and Very Rare appearances. The Toil in the Soil habitat is your better bet since it offers Rare rather than Very Rare odds.
The Mossy Rest Spot is cheaper to build (just four Moss), but Tyranitar appears as Very Rare there. However, you can also encounter Larvitar (Common) at the same habitat.
Tyranitar's Bulldoze and Crush specialties make it an excellent utility Pokemon for clearing land and breaking materials. Station it near construction projects for maximum benefit.
Since Tyranitar likes dark environments, stone items, and luxury objects, group its habitat with similar dark-preference Pokemon like Umbreon to share decorations.
