Overview

Island Getaway is inZOI's first free DLC, released on August 20, 2025. It adds Cahaya, a tropical island city inspired by Indonesian tourist destinations like Bali, Lombok, and Yogyakarta. The DLC is free for all Early Access owners but must be actively claimed and downloaded through Steam; simply updating the game is not enough.

The Three Islands

Cahaya consists of three distinct islands, each serving a different purpose.

Getting to Cahaya

Travel to Cahaya using the travel between cities system from Dowon or Bliss Bay. Once on the islands, use rented boats or instant boat taxis to move between the three islands.

Water Activities

Swimming and Diving

Build your Swimming skill through water exercises before attempting deep dives. Purchase snorkeling gear from local shops. Higher swimming skill lets you stay underwater longer and access deeper areas. See the Underwater Exploration article for details on dive sites and marine life.

Boating

Six types of boats are available for rental. Use them for leisure cruising, reaching dive spots, fishing in deep waters, and sunbathing. Boat taxis provide instant travel between islands.

Marine Life

Cahaya's waters are home to diverse marine life including fish, sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, and jellyfish. Different zones marked on the map host different creatures. Submerged temples between the islands contain treasure.

Economic Activities

Farming

Cultivate crops on the main island and sell the harvest at local shops. With enough progress and funds, you can acquire ownership of a shop. Weather events like flooding can damage crops; consider purchasing insurance to protect your farm.

Mining and Gem Crafting

An alternative to farming. Construct a crafting table in your yard and craft pickaxes for resource gathering. Extracted minerals and gemstones can be cut and sold for profit.

Cahaya offers nine new careers, all operating as rabbit hole jobs:

• Junior Lawyer (with promotions)

• Rookie Criminal (with promotions)

• Tour Guide Trainee (with promotions)

• Turtle Nestwatcher (with promotions)

• Encyclopedia Association Investigator (with promotions)

• Rookie Taxi Driver (with promotions)

• Lotus Space Assistant / meditation instructor (with promotions)

• Farmer (no promotions)

• Miner (no promotions)

Resort Facilities

The Resort Island offers villa accommodations, sports (billiards, bowling, basketball), arcade games using Resort Coins, and premium spa services including saunas, massages, fish foot soaks, and rose foot soaks.

Miatara Cat Temple

The Miatara Temple on the Resort Island lets you interact with cats through play, feeding, and meditation. Purchase cat treats, toys, talismans, and Catnip Candy from the temple shop. While inZOI does not yet have a full pet system, the cat temple provides a preview of animal interactions.

Limitations

• Pet ownership is not available (planned for a future update)

• Resort villas cannot be customized or decorated

• Must be claimed separately on Steam; does not auto-install with game updates
