Raven is an Old Camp figure in Gothic 1 Remake and one of the Colony’s named antagonists. The publisher introduced him with a dedicated remake character render in August 2023, describing him as a formidable antagonist and as once the right hand of Gomez, the leader of the Old Camp. He is one of the original cast the studio has publicly listed among the characters being recreated for the remake, alongside Gomez, Xardas and Gorn.
Role in the Old Camp
Raven sits close to the top of the Old Camp’s chain of command, under Gomez and alongside the camp’s other enforcers. A Hero who takes the Old Camp route deals with him directly rather than through intermediaries, and he is one of the figures who hands out the camp’s work.
Contact point | What happens |
|---|---|
Admission to the Old Camp | Raven hands over the Shadow’s Dress once the Chapter 1 admission quest is finished, which is the Hero’s first Old Camp outfit. See Armor. |
The Brotherhood’s Plan | In Chapter 2 an Old Camp Hero reports to Raven, who points them toward Caine at the Swamp Camp. A New Camp Hero goes through Lares instead. See Main Quests. |
After the Swamp Camp report | Reporting the Swamp Camp events back to Raven is what sends the Hero on to Diego for the next piece of Old Camp business. |
His quarters | Raven keeps lockable chests in his room inside the Old Camp Castle. See Lockpicking for the plate-move solutions. |
Combat Standing
Raven is tuned as one of the game’s named opponents rather than as generic camp muscle. Patch 1.0.2 (June 19, 2026) raised health and armor across most human enemies and singled out a set of named characters, Raven among them, for a larger increase than the general pass. A one-handed Edge weapon called Raven’s Right carries his name and sits near the top of the Edge tier; see Weapons for its damage values and requirement.
Patch History
Patch | Change |
|---|---|
Health and armor increased as part of the named-character balance pass. | |
Dialogue cameras that failed to exit properly were fixed; Raven was one of the characters most affected. | |
The ring previously found in Raven’s chest was moved to the chest belonging to Saturas as part of the mage-area loot pass. |
Voice Cast
Raven’s Polish voice is Janusz Wituch, confirmed in the November 2025 localization featurette series; the same actor also voices Cor Kalom. English, German, and Russian assignments for the character have not been published. See Voice Cast and Localization for the full cast.
Scope Note
Raven’s later arc, including his turn toward Beliar, belongs to a subsequent entry in the series and is not Gothic 1 Remake content. This page covers only what the remake and its own materials have shown. Anything beyond that, including his full quest chain, his stats and his behaviour in the endgame, is left out until the remake confirms it.
