Patch 1.0.2 is a post-launch update for Gothic 1 Remake released on June 19, 2026, two weeks after launch and one day after the FSR and Audio Hotfix. It is the larger patch the studio had said was in development, and it ships across all platforms. After it installs, the build version shown in the bottom-right corner of the Settings screen reads CL169494, which confirms the update applied. A separate small hotfix followed on June 22, listed below. For the first post-launch update this builds on, see Patch 1.0.1. For the wider launch timeline, see Release History.
Additions
The main addition gives console players a graphics-mode choice.
Change | Detail |
|---|---|
Console graphics presets | A Performance and Quality mode preset was added to the graphics menu on console platforms, letting players favour frame rate or image quality. See System Requirements for the PC hardware tiers. |

Resting | Fixed resting time not being restored when a game session was too short. |

Cutscenes | Further improvements to cutscene audio synchronization; fixed the concert sequence while the game is paused; removed duplicated characters at the start of a cinematic. |
Orcish subtitles | Fixed Orcish subtitle truncation when fast-forwarding the subtitle appearance. See Orcish Language for the spoken Orc tongue. |
Saving | Fixed the Game Over screen persisting on later save loads when quickloading before it fully appeared. |
Inventory | Improved inventory sorting. |

The patch clears a long list of quest blockers, grouped by chapter. See Chapters for the story structure these fixes map to.

Chapter 4 | Fixed gates opening incorrectly after the Fire Mages quest; the Jackal Free Mine conversation can no longer be skipped; fixed Orc ambient conversations spamming; dungeons and forbidden areas in the Old Camp are now correctly marked as trespassable. |
Chapter 5 | Kalom's camp characters now update after they move to the Sleeper temple; fixed Umakhal's dialogue flow. See The Sleeper for the cult's god. |
Balancing Changes

How to Confirm the Update
After updating, the correct version for Patch 1.0.2 is CL169494, shown in the bottom-right corner of the Settings screen. As with the earlier patch, the studio advised removing any installed modifications before updating, since some mods can be incompatible with the new build, and asked players to report remaining issues through the in-game bug-reporting form.
