Forging and Arrows
Gothic 1 Remake expands the crafting systems of the original. Two confirmed changes are a deeper weapon-forging loop and a new ability to craft arrows for ranged combat.
Forging Weapons
The system of forging weapons will be improved compared to the original. Alkimia has not detailed the full loop publicly, but the improvement ties into the wider push to make interacting with the camps, their smiths, and their workshops feel like it matters rather than being a set-dressing aesthetic.
Crafting Arrows
A confirmed addition is the ability to craft arrows, which was not supported in the original. That gives ranged characters a sustainable resource loop instead of forcing them to scavenge or buy everything. It pairs with the reworked bow handling shown off in the Nyras Prologue demo, where players can draw a bow to full extension for maximum damage.
Arena and Side Quests
The Colony's arena is also being expanded, with new quests and fighting animals tied to it. That turns the arena from a curiosity into a second progression channel for combat-oriented builds alongside the regular faction questlines.
