Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave organises its cast by clan rather than by class or country. Every group that enters the Heroic Games signs up as a team with its own name and banner, and that name is how the roster is indexed: a unit's clan tells you which Hero's route they start on, whether they turn up as an ally or as a boss, and often who they answer to. Twenty-one named groups have been revealed so far. Four belong to the Heroes the player controls, and the rest are either rival entrants or groups that sit outside the tournament entirely. Individual units and their roles are listed on List of Characters.
How Clans Work
Entrants register as teams with unique names, which is why the tournament reads as a contest between banners rather than between individuals. Preview accounts add that the clan name for the player's own group is chosen rather than fixed, and that the four Heroes' clans are named for something personal to each of them: a home village, a family, a landmark, a flower. That detail comes from hands-on coverage of a pre-release build rather than from published system copy, so treat it as reported.
The four Heroes' clans are listed as rivals of one another, and that shows up in play: on any given route, the other three Heroes and their retainers are opponents. Groups that are not entered in the tournament, such as the temple units and the Order of Mithras, sit outside that rivalry structure entirely.

Promised One's Army
The Promised One's Army is the party of the present day, formed around the protagonist after Sothis calls their soul down in 1454. It is the smallest group on the roster and the only one that is not a tournament entry. Its named members are Eshmel, Hong Hua and Troy, with the goddess Fortuna listed as an affiliate rather than a deployable unit. Both mortal members were rescued from the ruins of Dagsion and both can be spoken to afterwards at the Obelisk Chamber. Everyone recruited in the past strengthens this group in the present, so in practice the army grows to include units drawn from every other clan on this page.
The Four Heroes' Clans
Ribeira Winds
The clan captained by Cai, named for Ribeira village, his home. Its named members are Cai, Tialla, Peter and Ultand, with Castor also indexed with the group as a guest. Before the team passes the entry test for the tournament, they are referred to simply as the Children of Ribeira. Tialla and Peter are both fifteen, the same age as Cai, and Ultand joins the group later, having been uneasy about young people walking into fights this dangerous. Ultand starts out attached to the Temples of Dagda before joining.
House Lamine
The clan captained by Dietrich, and the one clan named for a family rather than a place. Its named members are Dietrich, Fabio, Esmeralda and Mikaela. Fabio handles the team's logistics, including paying prospective members such as Mikaela to sign on, which makes House Lamine the clearest example of a clan that recruits with money rather than loyalty.
Megaira's Beacon
The clan captained by Theodora, Queen of Saramis, and staffed by her veteran retainers rather than by friends her own age. Its named members are Theodora, Bonaventure, Tobias, Lysander and Lilian. The name points back to Megaira, the Saramian capital, and preview coverage reports that it refers to a lighthouse there.
Rose Tempest
The clan captained by Leda. Its named members are Leda, Buccar, Sirocco, Mu and Olympia. Olympia, like Ultand, begins with the temple units before joining. The rose in the name connects to Leda's title as the Rose of Caelus, won at the annual Festival of Roses held in that town.

Rival Clans in the Heroic Games
The Moon's Lie
The clan led by Talimun, which appears in the story as both guests and bosses. Its named members are Talimun, Ursula, Simon, Fianna and Ludia. Its leader is one of the four rivals reported to have reached the final eight of the 1449 tournament.
Linaria Morning Dew
The clan led by Orchel, also appearing as guests and as bosses. Its named members are Orchel, Diego, Seteth, Ninae and Loretta. Ninae and Diego both serve at the temple Orchel serves at, and Diego is sworn to her personally. Orchel is another of the four rivals reported among the final eight of 1449.
Brides of the Pale Raven
The clan led by Anatolia, the unit shown carrying a firearm. Its named members are Anatolia, Sha Lan, Halvin, Nezha, Long and Dadao, and the group turns up in force as bosses on the Lion route. The name has been rendered as the Brides of the Pale Raven, as the Pale Raven's Brides and, most recently, as the Bridal Party of the Pale Raven. The third is the form the most closely tracked roster listing now uses. None of the three has appeared in first-party English material, so all three are in circulation and none is settled. The banner is tied to the protagonist rather than to the tournament: Eshmel carries the title Herald of the Pale Raven, and the connection between the two names has been flagged without being explained. Anatolia keeps a fortune-telling shop in the capital that the player can visit, with Sha Lan and Dadao alongside her.
Mane of Flame
The clan of Bertrand, the White-Maned Demon, with Dante among the names attached to it, alongside Gaitz, Goliath and Jester. Bertrand is a boss on two routes and the name most closely tied to the tournament's history in Dagsion.
Aragonian Elite Unit
The knights of the Kingdom of Arago, indexed in one place under this name and elsewhere as the Kingdom of Arago itself. Nathan and Creek are its two named members, both encountered as bosses on the Lion route and both listed as recruitable.
Smaller Clans
Several clans have been revealed through their leader alone. The Gaia Brigadiers, written elsewhere as Gaia's Brigadiers, are led by Zarcone, a Gladiator who appears as a boss against two different Heroes: he is fought in the fourth chapter of the Fox route's first Part and again on the Wolf route. He is also listed among the playable cast, so the clan is one of the rival entries whose leader can end up on the player's side. The Silver Knights are led by Alexandra. The Thundercloud Knights are led by Benditz, a boss on two routes. The Brigid Army, representing Brigid in the tournament, is led by Peppe. The Palma Fighters are led by Jasmine, an axe user seen as a boss late in the Eagle route, in a battle where Leda fights alongside Anatolia and Orchel. Goliath's Bandits are a bandit outfit Cai fights early on, with Goliath himself listed as recruitable later.
Groups Outside the Games
Temples of Dagda
Units carrying the white banner of Dagda, serving on behalf of the seven temples of the Dagdan Pantheon rather than fighting for a prize. Its named members are Solel, Anna, Centurio and Sofia, with Ultand and Olympia both belonging here before they join a Hero's clan. Solel is the Divine Sovereign and the ruler who declares the tournament open, which makes his presence on a unit list unusual in itself. The temples also field an elite unit of their own, named the Vulcan and answering directly to the divine throne: Centurio and Ninae are both appointed to it, and Cai's father Castor is described as a former member. See Temple Blessings for what the temples do for the player between matches.
Har Hali
The Har Hali are a forest tribe of Dagda rather than a tournament entry, and they are the first of the continent's forest peoples to be described in any detail. What their own material states about them is short and specific: they believe in power, their chieftain has disappeared, and Nuzzuo leads the tribe in his absence as a stand-in rather than as a successor. They revere the demon god Balor, which sets them apart from the temple religion practised in Dagsion and puts them on the far side of the conflict the rest of the story turns on.
Two named characters are attached to the tribe. Nuzzuo is its acting leader, and he is fought after Cai and his clan cross onto Har Hali sacred ground. Diego also comes from the tribe, carrying its patterns on his arms and upper body, though he serves Orchel rather than the Har Hali by the time of the Games. Nothing published so far describes the tribe's territory, its numbers or its relationship to the empire.
Order of Mithras
An order described as involved with cursed artifacts, and the one group on this page that reads as a faction with an agenda rather than a fighting team. Its named figures are Raksha, called the Magistra, Iliana, Maria and Baozi, with two further members shown but unnamed. Hong Hua is listed as having worked for Raksha before 1454 and as continuing to do so during the tournament, and Iliana is described as the guardian of Bertrand. The order's association with curses connects it to the Curse value carried on this game's weapon tables; see Weapons.
Vandahl Trading
Vandahl Trading is one of the top merchant guilds on the continent, and the one group on this page that trades rather than fights. Talimun is its chief manager and Ursula its manager, second only to him in authority. She keeps the guild's books and is described as scolding him for overspending, which is the relationship the two of them are introduced through.
The guild also reaches into battle through her. Her business acumen is what unlocks the Storage command for every unit in the party, and her personal skill, Merchants' Manager, lets her and nearby allies pull items out of Storage in the middle of a fight. Items and Equipment covers what that means in play.
Forces Fought as Opponents
Three groups appear in pre-launch footage as opposition. The Sisters of Bragança and the Forgotten Alcor soldiers are new names with nothing published about their membership or their standing in the world, only the battles they show up in. The Thundercloud Knights are the clan listed above, entered in the tournament, and appear here because the battle against them is the clearest case of several Heroes fielding units on one map. Which Hero's path a battle belongs to is in places read off the surrounding party rather than stated on screen.
Force | Where It Is Fought | What Is Known |
|---|---|---|
Sisters of Bragança | Eagle route | They summon Risen Dead onto the map. Leda fields her clan in the same battle as Cai and Talimun. |
Thundercloud Knights | Fox and Lion routes | The clan of Benditz. The battle against them is one where Cai, Dietrich and Anatolia all take the field together. |
Forgotten Alcor soldiers | Wolf route | Theodora fights them alongside Talimun and Anatolia. |
Deities
The gods of Dagda are not a faction in the clan sense, but they are indexed as a group on the roster and several of them act directly in the story: Fortuna backs the protagonist, Balor is the enemy the whole plot turns on, and Solel rules the empire in person. They are covered on Dagdan Pantheon.
