Ultand is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. She is a young priestess who serves at the temple of Aurora, a goddess of the Dagdan pantheon, in the upper levels of Dagsion. She looks after Cai the way an older sibling would while he competes in the Heroic Games with his childhood friends.

Role in the Story
Ultand normally works at the temple, but the Heroic Games draw people from across the continent and she is pulled in to help the registration staff. When Cai arrives with Tialla and Peter to sign up, she has to turn them away: the maximum number of teams has been reached and sign-ups closed a while earlier. She tells them flatly that rules are rules, that they are children who will get hurt in a match, and that they should not make their families worry.
When Cai explains that he needs to enter to save his father, she bends. Extra places will open at the end of the month, she says, with a test to see whether the candidates have what it takes, and the deadline is noon on the last day. Once they leave, she admits to herself that a child fighting for his father's sake is the sort of thing she cannot say no to.
The roster listings have her with the Temples of Dagda before she moves across to the Ribeira Winds. On Cai's route she is already fighting alongside the party in Chapter 3, where she can heal in the battle against Goliath, and she joins permanently in Chapter 6. Later in the game Cai speaks of rescuing her; this wiki had not documented the circumstances behind that as of September 2026.
Combat Role
Her published profile has her doing two jobs in the same battle, attacking enemies and healing allies rather than staying behind the line. As her proficiency rises she can also learn white magic that is effective against enemies carrying an Underworld Boon, the protective status used by the undead side. Pre-release battle footage shows her in the Priest class casting Seraphim, a light spell that deals bonus damage to undead units.

Neither is presented as a locked assignment. The game lets units change class through certification exams, so these are the classes she has been shown in rather than a fixed career. See Classes for how the system works.
Recruitment
Cai's, Dietrich's and Leda's Paths all send their Hero to her at the arena entrance early on, in Chapter 3 for Cai and Chapter 4 for the other two. The three Heroes other than Cai can recruit her with Support level 3, a Renown level that depends on the Path, and a short quest.
Path | Support Level | Renown Level | Extra Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
Cai (Fox) | Not needed | Not needed | Joins automatically in Chapter 6 |
Dietrich (Lion) | 3 | 5 | Complete a quest |
Theodora (Wolf) | 3 | 6 | Complete a quest |
Leda (Eagle) | 3 | 8 | Complete a quest |
Japanese profile material notes that Peppe of Brigid is in her debt: he had lost his way in Dagsion when she came to his rescue.
Personality
Her profile sums her up as kind and caring, always ready to help Cai out. Her listed likes are taking care of other people, family, housework of every kind, and romance stories.
