Overview
St. Halssius's Priest's Hat is a piece of Headgear in Crimson Desert. It is a Special-type headgear piece with 3 Defense, Movement Speed Lv.1, and the St. Halssius Disguise effect. The hat is part of a full priestly outfit obtained during the Familiar Curses main quest, which is the 35th main mission in the game. The in-game description reads: "A hat worn by a priest of St. Halsius's House of Healing. It would be best not to concern yourself with the original owner of this gear."
The St. Halssius Disguise allows Kliff to blend in with the priests and staff at St. Halssius's House of Healing. When the full priest outfit is equipped (hat, attire, cloak, and leather footwear), Kliff can walk freely through the compound without being recognized as an intruder. This disguise is essential for the infiltration portion of the Familiar Curses quest, though it remains useful afterward for revisiting the House of Healing.

At 3 Defense with Movement Speed Lv.1, the hat offers respectable stats for a disguise item. Most disguise headgear in the game sacrifices combat stats for its infiltration utility, but the Priest's Hat manages to provide both. The 3 DEF matches headgear like the Canta Plate Helm and Jackals' Leather Helm, while the Movement Speed Lv.1 bonus is equivalent to what cloth headgear provides.
How to Obtain
St. Halssius's Priest's Hat is obtained during the Familiar Curses quest, the 35th main mission in Crimson Desert. The quest requires you to infiltrate St. Halssius's House of Healing in the Hernand region at Howling Hill to track down Yann, one of Kliff's old Greymane companions.
There are multiple ways to enter the House of Healing. The disguise method is the one that rewards the Priest's Hat:
Approach the House of Healing entrance. A guard near the buildings offers to sell you the full Halssius priest outfit for 10 Silver Coins.
Pay the 10 Silver to receive the complete set: St. Halssius Priest Attire, St. Halssius Priest's Cloak, St. Halssius Priest's Leather Footwear, and St. Halssius's Priest's Hat.
Equip all four pieces of the priestly outfit. With the disguise active, walk through the entrance without triggering hostility.
Proceed inside the compound and locate Yann on the second floor. Follow him to complete the quest objective.
Alternative entry methods include purchasing a visitor pass from Alfred at the Church of Hernand for 10 Silver, or sneaking in from the left side of the complex by climbing the cliff and hopping over a stone wall. However, only the disguise purchase method grants the full priest outfit including the hat.
Full Priest Outfit
St. Halssius's Priest's Hat is part of a four-piece disguise set. All pieces must be equipped simultaneously for the St. Halssius Disguise to function:
St. Halssius Priest Attire (chest armor)
St. Halssius Priest's Cloak (cloak)
St. Halssius's Priest's Hat (headgear)
Wearing only some of the pieces will not activate the disguise. All four slots must be filled with the matching priest outfit for Kliff to be recognized as a member of the clergy. Once inside the House of Healing compound, removing any piece will break the disguise and alert nearby guards.
Familiar Curses Quest Context
The Familiar Curses quest takes place after the Return of the Comrade quest. Kliff must locate Yann, who has been staying at St. Halssius's House of Healing. The House of Healing is a religious institution with restricted access, requiring either a visitor pass, a disguise, or a stealthy approach to enter.
The priestly disguise is the most immersive entry method and the only one that grants equipment as a reward. The ominous flavor text about the hat's "original owner" suggests the outfit was not obtained through legitimate means, adding a darker undertone to the infiltration.
Combat Tips
Keep the full priest outfit in your inventory even after completing Familiar Curses. You may need to return to the House of Healing for later quests or exploration.
At 3 DEF with Movement Speed Lv.1, the hat is serviceable as regular headgear in a pinch. It is not the strongest option for combat, but it does not leave you completely unprotected either.
The Movement Speed Lv.1 bonus makes the hat useful for travel, on par with cloth headgear but with the added benefit of 3 Defense.
Since this is a Special-type item rather than standard cloth, leather, or plate, standard material-based refinement rules may not apply. Consider this hat a fixed-stat item.
For dedicated infiltration builds, pair the priest outfit with stealth skills and accessories that reduce detection range.
