Overview
Torstein confirms intelligence about hostages being held at a mountaintop beacon. Kliff must follow a Blue Fangs soldier to the location, defeat the enemy commander guarding the prisoners, and light the beacon to signal the beginning of the counter-offensive. This is the first quest in Chapter 7 with a proper combat challenge.
Walkthrough
Speak with Torstein
This objective completes automatically through a cutscene that plays at the start of the quest. No player action is needed.
Follow the Soldier
Climb the ladder from the underground tunnel you descended during the previous quest. A Blue Fangs soldier approaches and begins walking ahead. Follow him on foot for a short distance, then mount a horse when he does. The ride takes you through the forest toward the beacon.
Defeat the Commander
When you arrive near the beacon tower on the hilltop, you encounter a commander miniboss. This enemy hits hard and has a large health pool, though no visible health bar appears on screen. The most dangerous element of this fight is the commander's frequent teleporting. He vanishes and reappears at random positions around the arena.
Strategy: Wait for each teleportation sequence to finish before approaching. Once the commander reappears and commits to an attack combo, dodge through it and land your own strikes. Three to four quick hits is the safe window before resetting distance. Repeat until he falls.
Light the Beacon
Enter the beacon tower after defeating the commander and climb to the summit. At the top, activate the Concentrating Light ability using the following inputs:
PlayStation: L1 + R1, then hold L1
Xbox: LB + RB, then hold LB
The brazier ignites, sending a signal visible across the region. The quest completes after the beacon is lit.
Tips
The forest area near Beighen has abundant wildlife for hunting. Farm meat here if you need to restock healing supplies.
A fast travel point and a cooking pot are available near Beighen village. Activate the fast travel point before moving on.
The commander's teleporting is his most dangerous trait. Patience wins this fight; do not chase him after he vanishes.
