Item Ability: Multi-Flash Cannon
Master Du's Circlet grants the Multi-Flash Cannon ability when equipped. Activating this skill unleashes a burst of light infused with inner power that deals damage to enemies in front of the wearer. The ability can be charged up to 10 times, allowing players to stack multiple bursts for devastating effect. After each use, the ability enters a 3-second cooldown before it can be used again.
The charging mechanic is what sets this circlet apart from other equipment abilities in the game. Each charge builds upon the previous one, and releasing all 10 charges fires a rapid barrage of light projectiles that can incinerate groups of enemies. This makes it especially effective against clusters of foes or during encounters where ranged burst damage is needed.

How to Obtain
Master Du's Circlet is obtained as a reward for defeating Master Du in The Cloister of Enlightenment during Chapter 9 of the main story. This is a challenging two-phase boss encounter that requires significant preparation. Along with the circlet, players also receive the Karmic Pulse Abyss Gear item.
To reach Master Du, players must first pass through three stat-gated doors inside the Cloister of Enlightenment:
Strength Door: Requires 7 or more points invested in Health
Spirit Door: Requires 5 or more points invested in Spirit
Vitality Door: Requires 5 or more points invested in Stamina
Players who have not allocated enough skill points in these areas can purchase Faded Abyss Artifacts to reset and reallocate their points before attempting the challenge.
How to Use
Using Master Du's Circlet requires a two-step process. Like other item abilities in the game, simply wearing the circlet does not activate its power. Players must assign it to their special equipment slot before they can trigger the Multi-Flash Cannon ability.
Equipping the Circlet
Open the Gear Quick Menu (hold D-pad Left on controller, or hold F2 on PC)
Navigate to the Armor tab and select hair accessories
Equip Master Du's Circlet from the Glasses slot
Activating the Ability
Open the Function Menu (hold D-pad Right on controller, or hold F3 on PC)
Scroll to select the Kliff Glasses in the special equipment slot
Exit the menu and press the Skill button to fire the projectiles
Patch Changes
In Patch 1.01.00, Pearl Abyss changed the functionality of Master Du's Circlet to streamline its use. After the update, once the circlet is equipped, pressing the item use prompt keys will immediately fire projectiles. This removed the previous requirement of navigating through multiple menus each time the player wanted to activate the ability, making it far more practical to use in the heat of combat.
Master Du Boss Fight Tips
The fight against Master Du is a two-phase encounter and one of the more demanding boss battles in Chapter 9. Stocking up on Palmar Pills and food before the fight is highly recommended.
Phase 1: Master Du attacks with staff strikes and sweeping combos. Using Heavy Attacks and Force Palm to stunlock him is an effective strategy since he is relatively small and can be thrown around. Players should dodge his spinning and kicking attacks by moving side to side. When he jumps onto the pillars around the arena, activating Focus allows players to slow time and prepare for his dive attacks.
Phase 2: Master Du becomes significantly faster and more aggressive. His most dangerous attack is a triple green energy bolt barrage that can eliminate an entire health bar in one volley. A useful counter-strategy is to stay positioned directly on top of him while attacking, as the green energy bolts have difficulty hitting at point-blank range. Continue using Heavy Attacks and Force Palm to stun him while weakening his stamina bar. Blinding Flash finishers combined with slash attacks are also effective for building stun damage.
