Overview

The Kuku Laser Cannon Spear (listed in-game as the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear) is a two-handed spear crafted at the Kuku Pot in Crimson Desert. It combines the unbreakable Kuku frame with Marni laser technology recovered from Delesyia, producing a polearm that fires a piercing energy beam when it strikes a target.
Like other Kuku-family weapons, it does not have durability, so the blade will never break from normal use. The recipe is locked behind the Witch of Humility faction chain run by Lyselia, and unlocks alongside the Kuku Gardening Pack blueprint when the Sanctum of Veneration is cleansed.

How to Unlock
The recipe for the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear drops as part of the Witch of Humility questline. Follow these steps:
Progress the main story far enough to access Delesyia and meet Lyselia (the Witch of Humility) in her hidden cave inside the Serpent Marsh, west of Delesyia.
Accept her faction quest and head to the eastern Delesyia cluster of sanctums: Sanctum of Veneration, Sanctum of Faith, and Sanctum of Oblation.
Clear every hostile group around the Sanctum of Veneration so the area is liberated.
Collect the two reactor cores, using Axiom Force and Force Palm to slot them back into the reactor.
Speak to Lyselia to complete the cleanse. This single sanctum unlocks two recipes at once: the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear and the Kuku Gardening Pack.
Return to the reactor dial and solve the Blinding Flash rhythm puzzle to eject the Core of Veneration from the top of the reactor. Grab it before you fast travel away.
How to Craft
Once the recipe is on your blueprint list, travel to the Kilnden Workshop and speak with Grimnir. Open his Kuku Pot crafting services and select the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear to assemble it.
The recipe is a fusion craft: it stacks a base Kuku Spear together with a base Laser Cannon Spear and a set of mechanical components (cogwheels, small batteries, electrical components) scavenged or dispatch-crafted from Delesyia's mech sites. Electrical components have to be sealed into the Kuku Pot using Axiom Force before they can be turned in.
Kuku Spear base: craft the standard Kuku Spear first. It is the Kuku skeleton the laser rig is built onto.
Laser Cannon Spear: dispatch-crafted from Marni's Masterium after the Laser Cannon Spear research task is completed at the Delesyian Institute. The base weapon is consumed during the Kuku fusion, so you will need to dispatch another if you want to keep a plain one.
Mechanical parts: cogwheels, small batteries, and electrical components are picked up while liberating mech sites in Delesyia during Chapter 10 and 11, or through dispatch missions after those areas are secured.
Core of Veneration: one-time reward from solving the Blinding Flash puzzle at the Sanctum of Veneration reactor.
Upgrading
Kuku weapons are not consumable gear. The Kuku Laser Cannon Spear has no durability loss and can be fed back into Grimnir at the Kilnden Workshop for upgrade tiers, the same way the Kuku Bismuth Spear is upgraded. Bring the spear to a blacksmith or the Kuku Pot menu and feed in laser-tier materials to raise its damage output. Since it never breaks, investing upgrade materials is safer than on a standard spear such as the base Bismuth Spear.
Post-1.06 Abyss Slot Expansion
Patch 1.06.00 reworked every spear in the Kuku family by giving each weapon four Abyssal slots, where previously the Kuku frame ran with zero or one socket. The change applies to the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear along with all of its siblings: the Kuku Disruptor Spear, Kuku Lightning Spear, Kuku Flame Spear, Kuku Bismuth Spear, and Kuku Propeller Spear. The bare Kuku Spear is unchanged and remains the base crafting component. With four sockets to fill, the typical loadout is three Crit Rate III gears stacked with one Hound's Claws, which pushes the spear's spinning slash chain to its damage ceiling.
Boss Clear Performance (Post-1.06)
Following the 1.06 socket expansion the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear has emerged as the strongest single-target weapon in the spear family for benchmark fights against the Ogre, a common stress-test boss for damage testing because of its large health pool and predictable telegraphs. With the four-slot loadout of three Crit Rate III gears plus Hound's Claws, published benchmark runs clear the Ogre in approximately 26 seconds on a clean attempt, placing it at the top of the Kuku ranking. Individual run times vary with skill, character level, and Refining tier, so the figure is best read as a relative benchmark rather than a guaranteed clear time.
Two factors drive the result. First, the laser projectile fires on every basic attack and continues to do damage at range, so even when the player rotates through evasive moves, the beam connects from awkward angles where a pure melee swing would whiff. Second, when a character is in the middle of a spinning slash animation, the lasers fan outward instead of all converging on the target, which means the weapon is not delivering its full theoretical output. In other words, the 26-second figure is an undersell of the spear's raw potential. A loadout that maximizes facing-direction uptime can squeeze out even tighter clears.
Why It Tops the Kuku Family
Ranged spear archetype. The lasers turn the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear into a hybrid melee-ranged weapon, which is unique in the spear family. No other Kuku spear can chip a boss from outside melee range while still scaling with all of the spear moveset's stagger and combo skills.
Strong base stats. 31 base attack and attack speed 1 are an unusual statline for a two-handed spear, which typically trades speed for damage. The attack speed boost smooths out the spear's slow standard chain and lets the lasers fire more often.
Hound's Claws synergy. The four-slot loadout opens up room for Hound's Claws, whose spinning-slash trigger lines up with the spear's standard combo. Stacked with three Crit Rate III gears, every spin both triggers the claws and crits, doubling up on already-strong damage.
Stand-in for ranged utility. Outside of pure damage testing, the laser beam is genuinely useful as a poke for skirmishers, archer enemies, and flying targets that other spears cannot reach without a switch to a Ranged Weapons slot.
Recommended Abyss Gear Loadout
Slot | Recommended Gear | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Slot 1 | Crit Rate III | Pushes crit rate toward the cap so every laser-augmented hit benefits. |
Slot 2 | Crit Rate III | Stacks with slot 1 because the cap is high enough to fit multiple Crit III gears alongside accessories. |
Slot 3 | Crit Rate III | Third crit stack to finish climbing the crit curve before adding utility. |
Slot 4 | Triggers an AoE sweep on every spinning slash, scaling with the spear's natural rotation cadence. |
If a Crit Rate III gear is missing, the slot can be filled temporarily with another offensive third-tier gear, but the loadout assumes Hound's Claws is non-negotiable because the entire combo cadence is built around the spinning slash trigger.
Where It Sits on the Tier List
The Kuku Laser Cannon Spear is currently tied for first place on the post-1.06 Kuku ranking with the Kuku Disruptor Spear, with the Laser Cannon recommended as the overall pick when there are no mechanical enemies in play. The full ranking appears on the Weapon Tier List, which compares all six Kuku spears alongside the rest of the game's two-handed options.

Tips
Do not cleanse the Sanctum of Veneration until you already have a base Kuku Spear prepared; otherwise you will unlock the recipe with no way to craft it until you return to iron and timber farming.
Pick up the Core of Veneration before fast-traveling. You cannot recover the reactor puzzle reward later in the same chapter window, and it is required for certain Kuku Pot crafts in the Lyselia chain.
Electrical components are much easier to stockpile while Delesyia mech sites are still populated. Once the region is cleared out, the only reliable source is dispatch missions, which are slow and gated behind research.
Because the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear does not break, treat it as a long-term damage upgrade, not a disposable weapon. Put enhancement materials from Grimnir's Kuku upgrade tiers into it rather than into a standard spear.
If you are leaning into laser gear, pair the spear with the Kuku Marni Laser Helm from the Sanctum of Benediction to keep a consistent Delesyian mech loadout.
