Old Salt Insignia is the highest tier of insignia in the current Windrose Early Access build. It awards the largest single-item reputation boost (community-documented at roughly 80 reputation points per turn-in) and drops only from the rarest Blackbeard-aligned enemies.
How to Acquire
Source | Detail |
|---|---|
Boss-tier lieutenants | Named elite enemies during main-quest boss encounters |
Frigate boarding | Clearing the entire crew of a Blackbeard Frigate may produce an Old Salt Insignia |
End-tier Pirate Camp captains | Captain-class enemies at the largest Pirate Camps in the Cursed Swamps |
Turn-In Value
Old Salt Insignias are the crown jewels of the reputation economy. Community reports peg the turn-in at approximately 80 reputation points per insignia, which is enough to skip most of a full rank threshold in a single handoff. Because they are so rare, most players hoard Old Salt Insignias until they are grinding the final push to Rank 3 in a specific faction, especially the Smugglers of Port Royal Rank 3 unlocks that gate Windrose Naval Tactics.
Strategic Use
Save Old Salt Insignias for the single faction whose top-tier Provisioner inventory you want most
Do not mix Old Salt turn-ins across factions; one insignia moved to the wrong faction can add weeks of grinding to the right faction
Old Salt drop rates are low enough that planning around 1 to 2 per farming session is realistic; do not count on a predictable flow
