Overview
It might hold a fortune inside.
Coin Pouch is a Common miscellaneous item in Windrose. The pouch sits in the starting chest loot pool at the Ashlands Ruins point of interest and is one of the earliest sources of Piastre for a fresh character. The item stacks to 20 and opens for coins on use.

Vendors and Pricing
Coin Pouch is not bought or sold by any vendor. The pouch's value comes from opening it in inventory, which produces Piastre directly.
Loot Sources
The Ashlands Ruins starting chest is the guaranteed source. The drop is a full 30-count stack on the first open, which represents a significant early-game Piastre injection.

How to Use
Open a Coin Pouch from the inventory screen to convert it to Piastre. Because the pouch stacks to 20 but drops in a single 30-count load, the first Ashlands chest clear will overflow the stack into two slots. Open a few immediately to bank the Piastre, then carry the remainder as long as inventory space allows; opening later preserves the pouch as a visible reminder of progression.
The Piastre yield per pouch is not exposed in the item panel, but the item's "might hold a fortune" flavor and the 30-count drop size from the first chest suggest the pouch is calibrated as a mid-value currency drop rather than a token trinket.
Tips
The Ashlands Ruins starting chest is the same chest that drops Closed Scallop Shell and a starter weapon. Clear the entire chest in one pass rather than returning for individual items.
Do not sell unopened Coin Pouches to vendors. The pouch's only payout path is opening it in inventory.
Keep at least one pouch in the stash as a quick Piastre top-up for later vendor stops.
