The On Fools journal records the day Thomas Richards' men arrived at Hands' camp demanding the artifact. Hands cut down four of them himself; the survivors were hanged.

A few days back, Richards's men showed up demanding the artifact.
The captain flew into a rage, drew his saber, and cut down three on the spot, then shot another. We dropped three more ourselves. The survivors were hanged by Hands personally.
They shouldn't have come. Fools to the bone, just like their captain.
