Deckhand Insignia is the second tier of insignia in Windrose. It drops from tougher Blackbeard-aligned enemies including Lieutenants and Musketeers. Each Deckhand Insignia is worth more reputation than a Newhand Insignia per turn-in.
How to Acquire
Source | Detail |
|---|---|
Blackbeard Lieutenants | Named elite enemies at larger Pirate Camps and dungeons |
Undead Musketeers | Ranged undead enemies in the Foothills and Cursed Swamps |
Boarding tougher ships | Boarding a Blackbeard's Pirates' Ketch or larger named ship yields Deckhand Insignias from the elite crew members |
Turn-In Value
Deckhand Insignias are the workhorse mid-tier reputation item. They are rare enough that a single combat session usually produces a handful rather than dozens, but each individual turn-in meaningfully pushes the bar toward the next rank threshold. They are particularly useful for the final stretches of each rank tier, where a single Deckhand turn-in may be enough to cross a threshold that a stack of Newhand Insignias would only graze.
Optimal Farming
Boarding larger Blackbeard ships produces more Deckhand Insignias per encounter than attacking Pirate Camps on land
Equip Boarding Party Gear before boarding runs to let the crew handle deckhands while the player focuses on Lieutenants
Save Deckhand Insignias specifically for the faction whose next rank threshold you are closest to clearing
