Description
Alchemical ingredient. Obtained from male goats.
How to Obtain
Mountain Goat Horn drops only from male Mountain Goat kills in the Foothills; the female Nanny Goat does not drop it. Horns land as physical loot on the ground when a goat dies, so sweep the kill site rather than looting the body. If you would rather buy than hunt, Merchant: Animal Products stocks it for 40 Piastre once that vendor is unlocked.
Used in Crafting
Mountain Goat Horn is a confirmed ingredient in the Elixir of Precision recipe, which can be brewed at the Alchemy Table and then infused at the Distiller to create the Epic-tier Infused variant. The Mountain Goat page also notes it as a material for accessory and weapon recipes; those specific recipes are not yet cataloged.

Hunting Mountain Goats
Mountain Goat Horns drop from male Mountain Goat kills. Individual goats have modest health and hit fairly softly, but they almost always spawn in small herds on elevated terrain, and the full herd will aggro together if one is attacked carelessly.
Isolate targets. Use ranged attacks (bow, pistol, blunderbuss) to pull a single goat away from the herd, then finish it in melee before its herdmates close the gap. Pulling the whole group at once is the main cause of death on this hunt.
Check the ground. Horns drop as physical loot on kill rather than from looting the corpse directly; sweep the area around each body before moving on, because a single kill can drop two horns in some cases.
Pair with Bezoar runs. The same herds also drop Bezoar, so Mountain Goat hunts double as alchemy-ingredient runs for Elixir of Precision and other concentration elixirs.
Hunting Grounds and Value
Mountain Goat herds graze the elevated terrain of the Foothills, usually clustered near the same slopes patrolled by the elite Goat Leader and by Wolf packs. Clearing a herd therefore yields horns for elixirs, Bezoar for higher-tier alchemy, and raw Meat for cooking in a single sweep, which makes the climb worth the trip even though each individual horn is only worth a few Piastre.
Stack and weight: horns stack to 30 and weigh 0.3 each, so a full stack is light enough to carry alongside heavier loot. Stockpile a handful before visiting the Alchemy Table, since the Elixir of Precision line and its Distiller upgrade both consume one horn per brew.
