Placement Strategy
The Merchant: Animal Products is one of three settlement-based NPC traders unlocked once the camp has the matching Merchant Contract. Unlike crafting extenders, merchant stations have a 1,000,000 Max Health (functionally indestructible), a Merchant Contract construction cost, and a 70-minute (4,200-second) trade cycle per purchase. Quantity discounts scale at x1, x2, x5, and x10 for identical Piastre-per-unit rates, so buying in x10 bulk is always the same price.
Tips
The roof requirement is real. A merchant placed under partial roof coverage will refuse to stock advanced goods.
Clearing nearby threat camps unlocks advanced goods on this merchant. Plan the threat-clear loop before counting on Mountain Goat Horn or Bezoar availability.
Piastre-per-unit rates do not change with quantity, but trade slots do; buying x10 at once saves nine trade slots over buying x1 ten times.
Rough Hide here is a reliable fallback when the Coastal Jungle crocodile spawns are exhausted; Piastre outlay is trivial compared to the farming time saved.
Current Stats and Drops
These are the exact Merchant: Animal Products prices observed in the current live build. Quantities scale x1, x2, x5, and x10 at a flat Piastre-per-unit rate, so bulk purchases are time savings rather than cost savings.
Buy Prices
Every line item below is confirmed stock, though the advanced goods only populate once the matching threat camps have been cleared. Expect a partial table on a fresh island until the clear list progresses.

What the Goods Are For
Stocking this merchant turns farming time into Piastres spent. The reagents it sells slot into cooking, leatherworking, ammunition, and alchemy, so a single trade run can resupply several crafting lines at once.
Good | Primary Use |
|---|---|
Core protein for cooked dishes; feeds most stat-buff food recipes | |
Cooking ingredient for egg-based dishes | |
Leather refining; underpins the leather armor sets | |
Crafting reagent and fuel component | |
Ammunition and fletching component | |
Beast trophies used in higher-tier crafting and upgrades | |
Alchemy reagent for potions and elixirs |
Buying Strategy
Prices are flat per unit at every bulk tier (x1, x2, x5, and x10), so a single x10 purchase costs the same per item as ten separate x1 buys while saving nine of the merchant trade slots that refresh on the 70-minute cycle. Buy in the largest bulk you can afford to make each cycle count. The advanced trophies only appear after the matching threat camps are cleared, so plan the clear loop before relying on Mountain Goat Horn or Bezoar being in stock. For comparison, see Merchant: Food and Merchant: Natural Resources, the other two settlement traders, each unlocked with its own Merchant Contract: Animal Products-style contract.
