Bus Stops are the primary fast travel system in Starsand Island. There are 10 Bus Stops scattered across the island, each requiring repair before it becomes usable. Once repaired, you can travel between any two functional stops for 15 coins per trip. The Bus Stop network becomes available after completing the Building Starsand Station quest, which itself requires finishing the Island Pro stage and helping Marston with the Maritime Bureau.
Bus Stops are locked behind a main story quest chain. You cannot repair any stops until you have completed the prerequisites.
Complete the Island Pro stage of the main questline.
Help Marston with the Maritime Bureau tasks.
Solara assigns the Building Starsand Station quest.
Cook 4 Soup Dumplings (each requires Meat Bites + Flour).
Gather the initial construction materials: 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet.
Build Starsand Station to complete the quest.
All 10 Bus Stops across the island are now available for individual repair.
You must repair at least two Bus Stops before fast travel becomes usable. Repairing only one stop does nothing since there is no second destination to travel to.
The 10 Bus Stops are distributed across the island. Nine of the ten require the same standard set of materials. The Cloudrest Lake stop is the only exception, using Bamboo Boards instead of Softwood Planks.
Bus Stop | Region | Materials |
|---|---|---|
Central town | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet | |
East Hopeland | East | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet |
South | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet | |
Northwest | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet | |
East Starsand | East coast | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet |
Northeast | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet | |
Far east | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet | |
Southwest | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet | |
North Starsand | North | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Softwood Plank, 5 Iron Sheet |
West highlands | 10 Stone Brick, 5 Glass Pane, 10 Bamboo Board, 5 Iron Sheet |
Cloudrest Lake is the only stop that requires 10 Bamboo Boards instead of 10 Softwood Planks. This is because Bamboo grows naturally in the highland area surrounding Cloudrest Lake, so the materials reflect the local resources.
Repairing all 10 Bus Stops requires a significant investment of processed materials. Plan your gathering and crafting sessions around these totals.
Processed Material | Total Needed | Raw Materials Required |
|---|---|---|
Stone Brick | 100 | 400 Stone + 100 Charcoal |
Glass Pane | 50 | 50 Glass Brick (from 200 Quartz + 50 Charcoal) |
Softwood Plank | 90 | 360 Softwood |
Bamboo Board | 10 | 40 Bamboo |
Iron Sheet | 50 | 50 Iron Ingots (from 200 Iron + 50 Coal) |
Charcoal (total) | 150 | 150 Softwood + 300 Fiber at the Charcoal Kiln |
The largest bottleneck is Charcoal. You need 150 Charcoal total (100 for Stone Bricks + 50 for Glass Bricks), which requires 150 Softwood and 300 Fiber at the Charcoal Kiln. Start producing Charcoal early and stockpile it in Storage Boxes as you gather the other materials.
Each bus trip costs 15 coins regardless of the distance between stops. This is a flat rate, not distance-based. The fare is deducted when you board the bus at the departure stop. You must physically walk to a repaired Bus Stop to use the system; there is no way to summon a bus remotely.
You do not need to repair all 10 stops at once. A practical approach is to prioritize stops near locations you visit frequently.
Starsand Station: Built automatically during the quest. This is your hub.
Green Pasture Ranch: Essential for daily ranching trips if your farm is not nearby.
East Hopeland or Exploration Club: Whichever is closest to your most-visited Moonlit Forest entrance.
Expand outward from there as your material supply allows.
Prioritize the stops near your home base and your main profession mentor locations first. Stops in remote areas like North Starsand and Cloudrest Lake can wait until you have surplus materials.
Stone: Mine rocks on the island surface and in the Moonlit Forest. Stone is the most abundant resource but you need 400 total, so start stockpiling early.
Quartz: Found in mines and cave areas. You need 200 Quartz for 50 Glass Panes. Quartz nodes respawn, so revisit mining locations regularly.
Softwood: Chop small trees around the island. You need 360 for planks plus 150 for Charcoal, totaling 510 Softwood. This is the single largest raw material requirement.
Iron: Mined from Iron nodes deeper in caves and the Moonlit Forest. You need 200 Iron total.
Coal: Found alongside Iron deposits. You need 50 Coal for Iron Ingots.
Fiber: Gathered from grass and bushes. You need 300 Fiber for Charcoal production.
Bamboo: Grows in the Cloudrest Lake highland area. You only need 40 for the single Bamboo Board stop.
Bus Stops are not the only way to get around the island. Several vehicles offer alternatives for players who have not yet repaired the full stop network.
Vehicle | Unlock | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Free blueprint from Zerine at Apprentice Crafter | Land transport; good early-game option | |
Sailboard | Blueprint from shop (1,300 coins) | Water transport; useful for coastal travel |
Crafted after unlocking blueprint | Basic water vehicle; slower than the Sailboard | |
Higher-tier blueprint purchase | Fast water transport | |
Speedboat | Late-game blueprint | Fastest water vehicle in the game |
Vehicles complement the Bus Stop network rather than replacing it. The bus system is instant travel between fixed points, while vehicles let you move freely across the map. Most players use both: buses for quick jumps between key locations, and vehicles for exploring or reaching places without a nearby stop.
Start gathering Bus Stop materials as soon as you unlock the Building Starsand Station quest. The sooner you build stops, the more travel time you save.
The Charcoal Kiln is the bottleneck. Build it early and keep it running constantly to stockpile Charcoal for both Stone Bricks and Glass Bricks.
Repair the stop nearest your home first. This gives you a hub connection to Starsand Station and saves the most daily travel time.
Do not worry about repairing all 10 stops immediately. Two to three stops covering your main routes is enough to start.
The 15-coin fare is trivial by mid-game. Do not hesitate to bus everywhere once you have the stops built.
If you are short on Iron, check the mines in the Moonlit Forest. Iron nodes there are more concentrated than surface deposits.
