Walkthrough
Step 1: Meet Machoke and Clear Debris
Find Machoke at the entrance area of Rocky Ridges. Machoke asks you to clean up by collecting five stones scattered on the ground nearby. Pick up all five stones to proceed.
Step 2: Watch Machoke's Demonstration
After clearing the debris, Machoke demonstrates the Strength technique. Watch the demonstration to learn how the move works. Strength allows you to push and pull large boulders that cannot be picked up normally.
Step 3: Practice Strength on a Nearby Boulder
Machoke points you toward a nearby rock formation to practice on. Use your newly learned Strength move to push or pull the boulder. Note that you cannot leave this area until you successfully complete the practice; attempting to use Strength on the broken PC will cause Machoke to call you back.
Step 4: Move the Boulder to Machoke
Push or pull the stone to Machoke's position to complete the request. Machoke will acknowledge your skill and the Strength move is permanently added to your moveset.
Rewards
Strength move: Permanently unlocks the ability to push and pull heavy boulders throughout all areas
Opens up new exploration paths in Rocky Ridges and other regions where boulders block the way
Tips
You cannot abandon this request once you start it. Make sure you are ready to spend a few minutes on it before talking to Machoke.
Do not try to use Strength on the damaged Pokemon Center during the practice phase. Machoke will call you back to finish the exercise first.
After learning Strength, revisit earlier areas. Many paths blocked by boulders can now be cleared, revealing new Pokemon, items, and hidden caves.
